Discussion: The Senate's Plan C On Obamacare Repeal May Already Be Dead

This is why most people hate politicians. Everyone of these liars voted 18 months to repeal Obamacare. I hope they receive primary challengers or they are defeated by whatever Democrat runs against them in the General Election.

I think this is precisely McConnell’s objective. The failure of Trumpcare 2.0 is now on the ultra right wingers. Trumpcare 3.0 will fail, for precisely the reason you cite, but the blame will be shifted onto the merely right wingers. They’ll now be brand-able as RINOs.

I think Ryan is more likely letting Pence’s ties to Trump (and upcoming downfall) take down any future elective chances… So Ryan can run as the Republican “savior” in 2020. He really fancies himself that way.

There’s no good option… Hatch is about the least bad. At least he’s at the end of his career…

Crystal ball: GOP-only health-bill failure leads either to (a) bipartisan success in the Senate, with Senate incumbents rewarded for working together to improve health care, or (b) intractable Congressional GOP inability to govern, which Trump will hang around their necks.

Even the team of GOP senators who were supposedly involved in deliberations over Mcconnell’s odious bill were not allowed to be part of the debate. McConnell’s staffers put this piece of crap together in such secrecy that even the token senators were as in the dark as we all were. That seems to be what Johnson’s bitch is all about.

Shorter GOP: Can we have Obama as POTUS. He really united us.

That didn’t take long. Notice that all of the Republican senators represent large numbers of poor whites dependent on Medicaid. The Medicaid piece of TrumpCare, which was the big prize for the upper 1%, is a direct assault on the Republican base. People who think those old white people will support anything that is against their personal best interests is sadly mistaken. All Democrats have to do to turn them is demonstrate that any given Republican proposal will hurt them personally.

Gonna move on over to plan ZZ.

GOP has not had an honest claim on the mantle of fiscal conservatism since Ronald Reagan won on his voodoo economics platform in 1980.
