The Bernie Dead Enders demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the political process. You don’t need the entire enchilada to call your efforts a success. With holding support for Clinton now would be thumbing your nose at your own efforts. I guess that is what happens when you can’t get out of your own bubble.
His speech tonight set her up to either win his supporters over or to ignore them at her own political peril. He basically threw her a rope. We’ll see later in the week what she chooses to do with it.
The clowns need to be treated like the badass kids they are – ignored and sent to bed without dinner.
Oh, brother. Got reality?
I really don’t care who they vote for, I just wish they would shut the F*** up.
85% of Bernie’s supporters say they’ll vote for Hillary. These delegates are the hardest of the hardcore. They literally no longer represent the voters who sent them to Philadelphia.
I was disheartened earlier today, but after seeing the progression of the speeches, and especially the First Lady’s and Senator Sanders’, I’m hopeful again. There are some very loud dissenters but I think by the end of tonight it was clear that they’re in the extreme minority, even though they’re getting way too much attention from the MSM for horserace reasons. A very heartfelt thank you to all the Sanders supporters who realize that we share a common goal, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the week now to continue the uniting that I think was started tonight.
“If she’s the nominee Trump will win.”
SAYS THE PERSON VOTING FOR STEIN.
It’s like a farce at this point.
I was a Sanders supporter, and it became pretty painful to watch how a lot of others were throwing away everything he accomplished. And frankly how Sanders himself was playing a kind of brinksmanship that threatened acceptance of his message in a wider audience on the left. It was a high water mark for progressive politics (for me, anyway), and now it’s left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. It’s not too late to salvage some of this, and I think that’s happening. There are those who want to disrupt the party, I have always felt that they weren’t dems and wouldn’t vote for Hillary under any circumstances. So why bother with them? Letting them yell at this point serves a useful function: they look like crazy people and it does trigger the bullshit meter. They’re hurting their own cause, unless they’re not sincere anyway. Who knows.
Do you really think Hillary, who has survived politically after 30 years of swimming with sharks, is not smart enough to make the best of this situation? Seriously?
I agree that the uniting began tonight - we’ll see what Clinton herself does with it - whether she continues that unification, or if she behaves like some of her followers and pisses it away.
As for all the handwringing over behavior within the convention: that ship sailed when those BLM assholes were defended after their disrespectful treatment of Sanders and those who wished to hear him speak at his rally. Show some consistency, please.
We’ll see. The proverbial ball is in her court.
She’s already been reaching out to Sanders supporters, including in her speech after the June 7th primaries concluded, so I’m sure that’s the way she’ll continue. There’s no reason to imagine otherwise IMO.
Honestly, Hillary has been very gracious and respectful of Sanders’ supporters, and has said she respects his passion.
…and she has the chance to build upon that in her speech later this week.
I hope you’re right. I don’t want her to screw this up any more than you do.
To the person who will vote for Jill Stein and says unfortunately Trump will win.
That makes you one of the good Nazis.
There are a lot of rude people. That BLM event with Sanders was pretty bad.
Some of the people booing tonight, though. I really wonder who they are.
I suspect the bar for this is set 1 inch above the ground.
