I have always tended to use colorful language. Around my children I have tried to use alternatives, and less of it. The result is that I heard one of my 4 year olds say, “Darn Fricken Chair!” after stubbing his toe.

A friend of ours was ordained as as Lutheran minister, and she admonished the husband to please not use goddamn, but a goshdarn just doesn’t suit him though he tries.
