Captivated by a handful of liberal superstars, they are venturing where the party has long feared to tread: Steep taxes on the rich.
I’ve been in favor of steep taxes for the rich ever since I was introduced to semi-modern US history, which would have been about 12 years old.
I want to call bullshit on the implicit assertion that the party’s turn is being caused by a handful of “superstars.” The truth is probably that voters have been in favor of this for a long time, but the party has refused to listen for a long time. It took a political crisis for party elders to listen, and even now they do it grudgingly. I fully expect most Dems to pull their punches, if in fact they even try to land a blow.
What a load of crap this article is. The primary assertion, that the Democrats will be too liberal for the voters, is not supported by any evidence or even quotations from sources. Phrases like “others wonder” are about as solid as Trump’s “Many are saying”.
Who are those “others”, and exactly what policy positions are they talking about?
