Can we have single payer soon?

Please?

“Too sick to work” is the biggest preexisting condition of all. Once the employer-based health insurers have cherry picked every healthy, sane person who’s willing and able to work full time for someone else, who remains? Able-bodied, able-minded farmers, loggers, artists, bloggers. People too physically sick or wounded to work much. People too mentally sick or wounded to work much. The individual market gets prohibitively expensive right quick, unless the insurance companies are allowed to scam healthy people with junk plans that cover nothing.

This was obvious well before Obamacare. It’s the reason for Obamacare. People in the “farmers, loggers, artists, bloggers” group are absolutely getting hammered by UpTheRumpcare sabotage.

I have full confidence that Congress will do the wrong thing.

Under its republican leadership it’ll certainly try.

The plans, which will now be allowed for nearly a full year, are also allowed to charge women more, and can refuse to cover Essential Health Benefits prescription drugs or emergency room visits.

I have a stick in my backyard that can provide all those features at a much lower cost.

These plans to stabilize ACA are a fraud. They are largely worthless and irrelevant. The unsubsiized continue to opt-out and will do so increasingly, leaving the market to the subsidized. 30 Million Americans have opted-out of ACA. So, when the Government pushes say $100 Million into the market, 75% of the premium reduction goes to lowering the tax credit payments that the Government is paying, with only 25% going to reducing premiums for the unsubsidized.
The result: The premium reduction for the unsubsidized will be small and largely irrelevant. But, Congress gets to say that they did something. Worthless. A sham.
Here are real numbers:
We paid $8,000 in 2013 pre-ACA, which jumped to $14,000 in 2014 under ACA. So, we opted-out. No reason to pay $14,000 for health insurance. Now, our premium under ACA is a staggering $30,500. And these silly programs may lower that to $25,000. But, we opted-out at $14,000 never to return, and certainly not for a meaningless $5,000 reduction.
A typical, stupid, sham Government program that causes the problem they want to claim they solved.

No, we can’t have single payer. That would be much worse than ACA. It’s an illusion.

Slightly OT:

Finland is the happiest country in the world, says UN report
Nordic nations take top four places in happiness rankings, with annual study also charting the decline of the US

“In the Nordic countries in general, we pay some of the highest taxes in the world, but there is wide public support for that because people see them as investments in quality of life for all. Free healthcare and university education goes a long way when it comes to happiness. In the Nordic countries, Bernie Sanders is not viewed as progressive – he is just common sense,” added Wiking, referring to the leftwing US politician who galvanised the Democrat primaries in the 2016 presidential election.
