The last group of tweets about the hijabs is absolutely heart-rending.
I keep thinking that I don’t recognize my country anymore. Then I catch myself thinking, “Oh yeah? Just wait until tomorrow.”

I don’t think the headline writer knows what “decries” means.
Technically, “he is my president,” in that he got elected by the democratic process.
By such a stunning upset that noone saw coming that I sometimes wonder if, in case the democratic proces was subverted by outside agency, would we even be able to tell the difference?
Donald can outsource that; I suspect there are some people over at Stormfront who’d be happy to help.
Agreed. And the Alt-Right racists will overreach and help expose Trumpism for what it is.
Delete the word “Is”. replace with “:”
At no charge.
I know. I read the article expecting to see who was denouncing the #NotMyPresident meme. But it turned out that the internet was proclaiming that meme. Oh well. It seems that gone are the days when we can worry about such things.
No. “Decries” means “denounces” or “condemns.” The story is saying that the internet is affirming this statement.
me too, geo - I will never recognize this con artist as my president.
So, do we get it now? This is the 4th Reich. This was not a normal election and normal loss for us. This is as Bill Maher called it, a slow moving coup. Now it’s not so slow.
We have to do what we can to make ourselves heard and to fight this fascist regime. I have no confidence left in our political institutions to stop this.
As some of you know, I am a minority woman… this can happen to me anytime now. I’m terrified for all of us.
I’m terrified for all of us too and I’m just an old white lady. We do have each other! And together we are stronger.

I have to wonder, if those protesting in states that Clinton lost when all assumed she would win them, all bothered to vote.
Fewer Black, Latino, and young people voted for Clinton than had voted for Obama in 2012.
Then heard on Vice news on HBO Wed nite. A whole bunch of youngsters(so I am old, so what) who had in fact voted for Bernie, but not Clinton stated that they wanted to burn the system down(I guess because Bernie wasnt the candidate and they are pointing to an early in the primary season poll that gave Bernie a 10 point win over Trump. And that poll became their reason for not voting because Bernie was not the Democratic candidate. 2 points. Point #1. Sen Sanders was never an actual Democrat, he was and remains an independent. point #2. Sen Sanders has called himself a Socialist. While the GOTP had a 30 year file to throw at Clinton, if Sen Sanders had won, Trump would have had a huge blowout. Why? Because Sen Sanders has self identified as a Socialist. Next to being a communist, being a Socialist is something that would really bring out people to vote against him. Old time Dems would vote against him because Socialist)
Re Clinton. more than 1/2 of all Democrats thought HRC was not to be trusted.
A lot she did to herself. The Russian Hackers did the rest. and to this day we have no idea if many of those emails were true or faked.
And who just leaves months of emails in their iphone? Especially considering who Podesta was, why no security? or so little security he was unaware of hack.
But, I will bet that every pol in congress or WH is going to have good security.
Or not. Considering just how truly stupid so many in GOTP House are. Not able to walk and chew gum at same time
Wait, that hasn’t already happened? You really think that there is anyone left who doesn’t know who they are?
I thought by now everyone was pretty aware of exactly where Trump was coming from and who he was associated with and what they stand for.
Michael Moore’s “Morning After To-Do List” Facebook Post For Democrats
Morning After To-Do List:
- Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
- Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn’t let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must “heal the divide” and “come together.” They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
- Any Democratic member of Congress who didn’t wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that’s about to begin.
- Everyone must stop saying they are “stunned” and “shocked.” What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You’re fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.
- You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: “HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!” The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don’t. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he’s president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we’ll continue to have presidents we didn’t elect and didn’t want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there’s climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don’t want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the “liberal” position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above). Let’s try to get this all done by noon today. – Michael Moore
On a personal note, not endorsed by Michael Moore, pay attention to Point #1. Your local Democratic Party is full of old men and ladies whose political sensibilities were formed in the Nixon era. They are weak and are fighting a battle from 50 years ago. If their tactics had worked, we wouldn’t be in this situation today. You can take over your local Democratic Party just by showing up.
You got it exactly right.
I agree that most local Dem orgs are filled with older people. Much older people. I’m in my 50s and yet I am still one of the youngest people, if not the youngest person, in the room during our monthly meetings. It is an echo chamber and I do believe that the priorities of young liberals are, or should be, different from the priorities of the previous generations. Older people are not facing the impacts of Choice, we’re not looking for affordable daycare, we don’t see firsthand the impacts of playground bullying. People like me are looking for solutions to college debt simply because I’m either going to go into debt myself or my kid leave college with a mountain of loan repayments in front of him.
Our Dem values may be closely aligned but our priorities likely aren’t. Being in my 50s, I am not the one to start the process of getting young people engaged but we should be looking to pass the baton. We’ll still be there but we shouldn’t be leading the future.
JMHO, for course.
trump won a rigged election–rigged by James Madison, and other slave owners.
I am hoping that during his first State of the Union Address, some very left leaning congressperson from a safely Blue district, perhaps one with a large college student presence, yells out “You Lie!” at one of many whoppers we are going to hear each time Donald Trump opens his foul mouth.
