Title should be changed to the “War on People They Look Down On Having Sex.” Because that’s what it’s been about, always. That forced pregnancy gets mixed in there is just a side benefit.

Actually, I am surprised the Pubs have gone quite this far. Apparently, it’s either a.) hate for any government program whatsoever or b.) hate for any woman, minority or not, to receive any health benefits. Maybe both? Odd though in that a wide swath of poor Pub women (read: white) also have been and will continue to be hurt by their efforts. Amazingly, I guess they expect that all would be covered by private insurance, Medicare, Medicad, etc. Yet they also would love to shut down any government program that doesn’t shovel more $ to Israel, the defense industry and big business. So maybe it is a.)?

if the poor would just get a job or two or three, they wouldn’t have time to do all their slutting around.

Every man for himself. Every woman for your husband. Start a war.

That’s the whole platform.

Today’s Republican Party cannot seem to contain its bubbling contempt for women’s health care.

That’s the best line in this post.

A couple years ago I created a file of stories of today’s Republicans contempt (War on…) for women across the board on multiple issues. This will be added to that file. What bothers me is that so many Republican women ignore what is going on right before their eyes.

If it has anything— anything at all to do with a vagina,… Republicans just can’t help it–

The Operaive Assumption for the ReTHuGGs is that so-called support for Democratic positions (including this one) is spread across a broad, disinterested swath of dullards whose attention span is that of a reality show. Another way of putting it is: A mile wide, an inch deep.

The ReTHuGGs are aware that their base, which is motivated by hatreds, insecurities, xenophobia and a host of other resentments (including an astounding amount of racism) is highly charged to get out to the Polls (a lot of this is Age Based, including the tendency for Older people to vote in remarkably large percentages of their electorate).

I do not believe that they have been able to square the circle of appealing to the sanity in Man while also appealing to some of the worst impulses in the American People I have been exposed to in my Sixty-Seven years.

The question has always been:

“Will the Democrats ‘come out’ ?” (like, did my prom date in 1965 want to “come out” to the neat-o event, which had some FAB Beatles songs?)

Republicans will have their wars, one way or another, an enemy is an enemy and for some reason, they love to fight (metaphorically).
The middle east is not quite sufficient enough of a war and although they have the ability to, they are too gutless to declare it and take responsibility. They need more war, so America’s women are easy targets and they can enjoy the fruits of their efforts right here at home.

Roll out the Humvees, there is a family trying to plan in Topeka.

My sentiments, exactly. This is why at least half of my postings deal with (the lack of) Democratic constituencies’ voting zeal.

Those who would vote Repubicans IN are motivated by demons incomprehensible by saner people.

But that does not mean necessarily that “saner” means automatically more interested in political affairs.
