Discussion for article #221965
Something tells me that the Bundy affair has blown up the new commenting system here. I can’t be the first person to comment.
“O, swear not by the moon, the fickle moon, the inconstant moon, that monthly changes in her circle orb, Lest that thy love prove likewise variable”
Awww…how’s that coddling up ta’ racists working out?
Note how the RW nut jobs are backtracking so fast they are falling over their own feet to run away from Bundy. Not only is Bundy lying about his family owning the land, freeloading on public property, failing to pay money he owed (after losing in court) but now he is also proving that he is an out and out racist.
This “hero” of the RW turns out to be tragically flawed - the Greeks could not have written a better play about stupidity, lawlessness and greed.
This a revealing article about hypcrasy of rank careerists.
In earlier times they would have called “collaborators.”
Could be his 15 minutes are over. Gee. What a shame. I was hoping we could keep him talking for the next year and a half.
Commenting on Bundy is like a free shot on goal…a chance for any Republican to prove he’s not a racist by criticizing a guy for saying what no one would dare defend. Yet Ted Nugent’s pal, Gregg Abbott, the frontrunner for Texas Governor, is too chicken to say a word. He knows a lot of his voters agree with Bundy, and he would not dare offend them, just like he won’t criticize Nugent.
After Bush, no one thought Perry could be worse, but he is. Now Abbott is trying to prove that it is possible to elect someone worse than both. But what should you expect from a guy who lives on millions he collected for suing a homeowner who’s falling tree put him in a wheelchair, who then champions tort reform to keep other injured people from suing?
What did Sarah have to say? I am waiting with bated breath.
Just how did the BLM commit “atrocities by harming the public and the animals living on it” as Rep. Townsend claims? Having been around cattle I can tell you it was Bundy’s animals causing the problem … and that doesn’t even address the taking of federal land for personal profit, which is what Bundy has been doing. I’m waiting for the Benghazi connection and the fact that it was actually Hillary Clinton who master-minded the whole affair to make herself look more presidential.
Correction … it wasn’t Townsend that made that “atrocoties” quote … it was Fiore.
I’m doubting she’ll be making comments on FoxSpews any time soon, and if her handlers are smart, they’ve hidden her “Twitter machine.”
Heh - one might think that the RNC’s talking points today included the word “reprehensible”. Am I being too hopeful in thinking that maybe now these Republican pols might now understand what the rest of us think about the Tea Party? The GOP-embraced TP is prone to a Bundy-style eruption pretty much once a week these days.
In other words, Fiore has doubled-down on Stupid, while the rest of the more sane politicians are doing their best Michael Jackson impersonation to back away from Bundy:

Exactly, I can’t post either, unless someone else has posted something first!
republican flip floppers
They are calling him a racist now because that is what he is, amongst a few other not so great things.
Like Harry Reid said, this is not over. Cliven Bundy postponed his day in court or his day to die, but it hasn’t gone away.
Bundy is making things worse for himself in the meantime with his mix of Faux patriotism and anti-government message. Only the other confused Patriot/not patriots are with him. He will face his final destiny and he can bite the bullet and pay up, just like the rest of us, or he can go down hard fighting the wrong fight for the wrong cause.

You crawl in bed with racists, it’s mighty bad when you have to chew off your arm to get out. New meaning to coyote ugly.
