Discussion for article #243545
Hmmmmm… where did I read the difference between a liar, someone who knowingly contradicts the truth, and a bullshitter, someone who doesn’t give a shit what the truth is?
I had to work for a man like this for a number of years, who thankfully did otherwise have a moral compass. He would make the determined statements of fact that the other managers and I were having to dissemble because we knew it was absolute bullshit he made up in the moment. His ego required him to have the last authoritative word. Coming off of that experience, there’s much I’ll put up with in a boss as long as it’s not that quality.
Trump repeats the “we have to be vigilant” statement so that his followers hear what they want to hear. – Muslim bad, must be vigilant. If see Muslim, Muslim must go. Fear for life. Muslim will take away my Freedom. Muslim must go. Must be vigilant.
I suppose it’s quaint to point this out, but neither President Trump nor any other part of the Federal Government would have the power to revoke the citizenship of a group of U.S. citizens based on their religion or nationality.
As for myself, I can’t help but wonder what benefits would flow to the polity and the world in general if we could revoke the franchise of anyone dumb enough to support Donald Trump. Of course that’s no more (or less) constitutional than revoking the citizenship of muslims.
Not revoke, just round them up and send them to internment camps, shutter their places of worship, and generally make them second-class citizens, at best.
He’ll get some folks to help him work out the details once he’s in office. It’s a work in progress.
“I’m a uniter”? Trump is clearly not taking his candidacy seriously. It’s a parody of a pompous Nazi candidate and the media are just lapping it up.
