Discussion: 'The American Is Out': UN Migration Agency Snubs Trump's Pick To Lead It

“Maybe he will get the message.”

Not unless it’s wrapped up like a Big Mac.

OK with Trump… he does not want to nobly lead … he wants Amearica to be the prick that everybody fears … the global bully.

In the real world, a leader probably would get it seeing as The “IOM Director is seen as an ‘American seat’ … But Rump will just use it as an affirmation that America is the victim of (fill in the blank). He’ll also use it as a cudgel against Western European former allies.

Why on earth would the UN do anything that Trump wants? He has pretty forcefully shown that he doesn’t give a shit about the UN

Isaacs, a vice president at the evangelical Christian humanitarian group Samaritan’s Purse led by Pastor Franklin Graham,

That should have been enough, right there.

Rumor has it that the US withdrew from the council before it could be kicked off.

This is just one of many more to come. Immigration policy at odds with most of the world, human rights policy at odds with the much western world, trade policy at odds with the whole world, foreign policy at odds with much of the world, peace policies–we now truly do ‘pal around with dictators.’

Need I go on?

We’re going to have to completely rebrand the country after Trump and his thugs are gone. Maybe the United States of We Are So F*cking Sorry?

That’s almost as bad as Donnie’s leading SCOTUS pick…

When you tell the world “I don’t like playing with you anymore. I’m going to take my ball and go home!”, you should expect the adults in the room to tell you “ok”.

Yep, that would do it for me too. Pushing your religion onto people as a condition of aid is not what the parable about the Samaritan is about. In fact, it’s about the exact opposite.

So while it’s nice to see them building churches in Puerto Rico, especially after the government bailed, that aid is going to have a price tag.

Well, there seems to be no shortage of scaberous companies that will do that for us.

Just enough wrong to be right.

I’m glad to see that the rest of the world saw the US candidate for what he is, a Christian in name only whose goal was enforcing his fascist religious dogma onto the rest of the world. It’s sad that it’s come to this, in the past the US would have been the ones making sure that freedom was the primary focus of organizations like this.

The United States of the Morning After? Oh Jayzus, never again…

Dear United Nations,

Thanks for doing what I wish we could do within the US to all of Trump’s nominees for federal positions - reject them.

All my best to the rest of the world (except Russia and maybe a few others),

Rick

p.s. If you can humiliate him a great deal any chance you get, that would be good, too.

Be wary of the effort to cut Ken Isaacs out of the ‘message’.

Isaacs is EVERY BIT as White Supremacist as Trump, IMO at least as fundamentally rooted in it through his extreme Christianist mindset, his more politely covert anti-Muslimism and his yet even more gentile anti-brownfolkism.

Trump comes across as an ignorant clown because he’s supremely ignorant, clownishly vulgar and LOUD.

Isaacs basically is just more quiet about his fundamentalist white supremacist beliefs, and more milquetoast presentable in polite company.
