Discussion for article #237192
Ever notice when racists are caught they immediately say: “hey it was a joke I was just kidding.”
One of the families at the meeting told the station that Couch, one of the teachers on the certificates, apologized. Couch is a pastor in Sumner, Texas, KDFW reported.
More of those ShiiteBaptist “Christian Values” on display.
You would think that these people would, you know, engage some brain cells before doing something this stupid, but my guess is that they don’t have brain cells to engage in telling them not to do something this stupid.
Off topic, but it sounds like someone heard the phrase “begs the question” and didn’t understand what it means…
If there were no minorities, then they could be themselves:
completely and utterly miserable…no one to “look down on” and, more importantly
looked at by the 0.001% as what they really are.
I nominate the teachers, principal, and superintendent as co-winners of the 1st Annual WTF Award.
Both should be fired as should administrators if they were aware this has been done more than once. Won’t hear any right wing wrath about this though.
Teachers handed the certificates to students receiving supportive services for learning disabilities.
There is nothing more to investigate. The evidence is in the hands of the parents. The “teachers” demoralized those students. Special Education students get more than enough degrading from the rest of the school on a daily basis.
The “teachers” should be fired immediately.
Another one for the “What were they thinking???” pile. How can any who calls himself/herself a teacher think that making fun of students, especially those who are already struggling, is a good idea? Did it never occur to these two to put themselves in their students’ places? I’m sure they get more than enough ridicule from the rest of the world as it is. They sure don’t need it from the people who are supposed to be helping them.
Racist mockery of special-ed students calls for instant firing and arrangements made so these people never work with children again.
Any time you see that phrase used these days, it’s almost certain to have been used incorrectly.
Racist morons always dance to their own kind of music and laugh at “jokes” that normal people do not see as funny.
@MartinPA: It would take the likes of your avatar to produce a truly appropriate punishment.
Pastor Couch, spreading Jeebus’ love wherever he goes.
Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.
I think the special ed kids given into your care might lay a claim to “the least of my brothers,” Pastor Couch.
Texas. What else would you expect?
Hey, it’s Texas for chrisake. Wadda you expect?
Not excusing what they’ve done, but I wonder if the fact that it was the “8th Annual huh?” award for “8th Graders” meant that the teachers thought the kids were clueless and had been passed up the ladder 8 times.
And I do know teachers (not of special ed kids, though) who say that many of their kids can’t follow simple instructions like “take out a piece of paper”. The kids ask, “Blank paper? Notebook paper? Can I use the back of the letter I need to take home?” Fortunately these teachers are equipped with an endless supply of patience and a bountiful sense of humor among themselves.
These two sound like their patience ran out about five years after their brain cells did.
Deeply, deeply offensive…unless the “Huh” award went all 8 years to Ms. Garner and “Pastor” Couch. Talk about “ghetto” behavior. I think we have a pair of winners.
Your write! I’m glad to see I’m not alone in my concern around this abuse of language. I find the ever-more-common misuse of this phrase to be very impactful. [Etc.!]
