There are myriad relevant and applicable charges that can be brought against the perps. The confusion comes after Texas governor Gregg Abbot has deliberately failed to mobilize his administrative to comply with Court orders and assure that everyone from his office down to the lowliest of municipal clerks is not only aware of the ruling but obeying it strictly.

It depends on who is working the particular line you are in. I am an alternate elections judge just few counties south of you. Ideally, we have equal numbers of Dems and Reps clerking. As a Democrat who could care less about your ID, I give it a cursory glance. But I have worked with Nazis in the past who looked over every bit of the ID presented. This year I will be watching to make sure none of my Rep counterparts gives anyone grief over lack of photo ID. The actual guidelines sent out by the Secretary of Stateās office are contradictory. However, they are only confusing to those people who think that photo ID is a necessary part of ācleanā elections.

Though Iāll say this-- I donāt watch alot of broadcast TV-- but have been recently.
There are-- with frequency-- 30 second ads being run with the correct information-- stating 3 times per spot-- the different forms of ID you can present-- including the opportunity to sign an affadavit to vote if ID has been lost in a recognized natural disaster.

Here is a list of the acceptable forms of photo ID:
Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
Texas license to carry a handgun issued by DPS
United States military identification card containing the personās photograph
United States citizenship certificate containing the personās photograph
United States passport
With the exception of the U.S. citizenship certificate, the identification must be current or have expired no more than 4 years before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place.
Election Identification Certificates are available from DPS driver license offices during regular business hours. Find mobile station locations here.
Here is a list of the supporting forms of ID that can be presented if the voter does not possess one of the forms of acceptable photo ID and cannot obtain one due to a reasonable impediment:
Valid voter registration certificate
Certified birth certificate (must be an original)
Copy of or original current utility bill
Copy of or original bank statement
Copy of or original government check
Copy of or original paycheck
Copy of or original government document with your name and an address (original required if it contains a photograph)
Basically proving you ālive somewhereā.

What the Republican powers that be are trying to do is to trick you into thinking that you cannot vote unless you have the proper have a photo ID, but then say, Oh, BTW, in case you donāt have one, here is what we will accept. Battleground Texas has a different approach, a positive one. Here is their ad:
