When the coverage dies down, will they all be socked with additional charges?
Yes, these inmates were definitely risking their lives in the process of saving this man’s life. Things could have easily gone terribly wrong when the reinforcements arrived.
So, kudos to the inmates for their bravery, and congratulations on staying human in a dehumanizing situation.
And kudos to the responding reinforcements for showing some restraint, and not reflexively assuming the worst and reacting with violence when they saw that the inmates were loose and the guard was unconscious.
That was way more heartwarming than a kitten video.
The profound humanity on display here is the perfect counter-programming for the ongoing Dallas news deluge.
Hope this will gets some more play in the MSM (although not very optimistic on that).
Nice to see after a very difficult week, but is anyone else troubled by how easily the inmates were able to escape from the cell?
After the incident they shored up the holding cell so nobody gets saved again.
Agree with the sentiment.
A company I worked with a few years ago built a franchise location in Weatherford TX.
Approx 20mi due west of Ft Worth. With nothing to the west but smaller towns for about 3 hours.
From marketing experience Weatherford TX-- is one of those small towns where almost everyone knows everyone.
Those inmates look like they are being escorted to/from proceedings-- handcuffs in front.
The jailers likely don’t have many violent types to deal with in Weatherford.
All in all though? A pretty cool event.
Though after the inmates got the attention of the other jailers-- the most important aspect?
One of the cops on-the-scene knew CPR. That procedure HAD to occur continuously until an AED (defribulator) could be located, delivered, charged and applied.

Well, that’s part of why there’s an armed guard there… but as ron said, the cell’s being reinforced.
No.

Has the Lt. Governor announced that they were hypocrites yet?
