he’s a g*d damned effing prick . . .
more like Governor JESSE HELM… remember Jim Crow…
Yep - Texas can still brag they are not a red state that is a net “taker” from the Feds - but I think that’s going to change soon even without Medicare expansion they keep refusing.
I always wonder about people who vacation here - I cannot imagine that they are aware of the weather, or they wouldn’t come here.
And Austin does not need even so much as one more person. It’s just wrecked - it’s like a weird form of Disneyworld down there anymore with the traffic and the nonstop overkill on weird events.
As a Texan, I don’t know whether to complain because he’s not attending to Texas state business or to be thankful that he’s fucking around in another state’s business instead.
So what’s his record in his campaigns against the Obama administration?
…an unfeeling prick…
But he’s taking a principled stand!
I’m going to say something that makes me very uncomfortable, because I’ve grown attached to, and am very fond of the clientele that my mental health association caters too. However, I feel I need to say it–In my line of work, I deal with special needs individuals who are some of the most wonderful, kind, decent folks I have ever had the honor of meeting. Many of whom, have been dealt a crappy hand, and have been ice skating uphill for most of, or all of their lives. Also, I see some very sad things. We work with some vets who suffered head trauma, and literally have to be re-taught how to say and write their names, daily, because of the head injuries they suffered. All of these amazing folks, despite their ailments and illnesses, some of whom are heavily medicated because they are a danger to themselves, are infinitely more self-aware than this asshole, Trump, the NC Governor, and the prominent GOPers, as a whole. This is not hyperbole, it’s incontrovertible fact!
I realize that I say some rude and inappropriate things on this website. Sometimes I say these obscenities in jest, but mostly, it’s out of exasperation and befuddlement at the overwhelming idiocy of these dumb children. It boggles the mind that, not only are these assholes in positions of power, but that there is a voting public that bestows this power unto them. Through all my training and schooling, I am at a loss as to where this hatred comes from within these hateful, low-life, pieces of shit. Is it their religious teachings? Up-bringings? Or a combination of both? Truth is, I don’t give a fuck. They are retched scum, and I wish that their perversion of Jesus would come back already, and rid us of them in their idiotic concept of Judgement Day. At least then, we can live in a civilized society, where hope, love and respect for our fellow humans can flourish.
Hey. Grifters know a good grifting opportunity when they smell it.
You don’t become the Republican Governor of Texas without knowing when to spend oodles of state money on boondoggles that can help you get re-elected by stoking the fear of the rubes.
Austin metro area just surpassed 2 million residents, and the infrastructure/public services are having a hard time keeping up.
As H.L. Mencken once said, the American people know what they want and they deserve to get it good and hard.
As usual, Abbott is full of shit.
But on another note—to the author—about grammar.
"This week, Texas Republican officials dove into the national debate . . "
The verb to dive is a regular verb.
Its principle parts are dive, dived, dived.
I dive.
I dived.
I have dived.
Dove is the name of a type of bird.
Under no circumstances whatsoever is it the past tense of dive.
Please memorize this.
Thus endeth today’s lesson.
Gov Abbott,
Help is on the way for you and all the Texans that are now too scared to poop away from home!
Love it. Best giggle of the day.
Always count on Texas to stand tall for the worst of the worst.
It’s surreal to me that this is the hill they’re making their final stand on. And, with all due respect to transgendered men and women, it is rather pitiful and almost cartoonish. You can almost see them frothing at the mouth because they have an issue - NOW they really have an issue! - that allows them to attack yet another vulnerable minority to gin up their conservative bonafides. It never ends with these people. Who will it be next? There’s always a next time.
When you have Texas, the state with the board of education that declared Moses to be a Founding Father, on your side, it’s time to acknowledge that you’re on the wrong side of the argument.
On another note, Pat McCrory has stated repeatedly in the past week that North Carolina is the nation’s “ninth largest state.” It’s not; it’s the twenty-eighth largest state, which suggests that the governor needs to either choose his words more carefully or learn how to use Wikipedia.
