Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt asserted on Monday that the dozens of
people killed at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas had gone to the
right place to be shot because they were close to Jesus at the time of
their death.

“We’ve been reporting this shouldn’t happen in a church,” Earhardt
said during an interview with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ®. “But I was
downstairs talking with some people that work here that we all talk
about our faith and we share the same beliefs. We were saying there’s no
other place we would want to go other than church.”
“Because I’m there asking for forgiveness,” she continued. “I feel
very close to Christ when I’m there. So, I’m trying to look at some
positives here and know that those people are with the Lord now and
experiencing eternity and no more suffering, no more sadness anymore.

“Just hours after a mass shooting left at least 26 people dead at a small Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, state Attorney General Ken Paxton appeared on Fox News. His message to Texans: Bring a gun to church.”

Heaven forbid we talk about any form of gun control—we have no idea how this keeps happening!

LOOK…Let’s get to the REAL facts here. You have the top officials of the state of Texas asserting that the real solution is for every church in America to include, as part of its program, armed guards in and around the building.

Does ANYBODY see the sheer insanity of this?

And as has been noted many times, the idea of a unknown number of armed civilians packing under concealed carry laws when something like this breaks out just adds to the insanity.

At the Colorado Walmart shooting recently, the police arrived and began immediately looking at the store’s security cameras. That’s when they saw numerous store patrons drawing their own weapons. What kind of a position do the police have to deal with in armed carry states when they arrive at a mass shooting session and their first task is to make sure they don’t wind up shooting average citizen Joe because he just pulled a gun thinking HE was going to be the hero on scene?

Look at Orlando…a crowded night club…flashing lights, poor visibility, hundreds of people and maybe some of them armed civilians. Where do the cops aim and who do they shoot?

Gabby Giffords shooting…one of her aides had a weapon and came within an inch of getting his head blown off when police arrived on the scene.

And please NRA…give me a list of how many armed “good guys” have so far halted the deaths of literally THOUSANDS of innocent civilians in incidents like this latest one. How many Wayne? Tell me just how many?

This. What we can be sure of is that the police identifying who is a bad guy and who a “good guy” won’t be their priority. Or, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe as long as the good guys are white, they’ll go out of their way to ensure they don’t make a mistake. Hard to tell, nowadays. But wouldn’t be too surprising if “officer safety”, which in practice often means shoot first, ask questions later, will take precedence.

These politicians aren’t even human.

Well, thank goodness they had their faith, because that made them bullet-proof…oh, wait, it didn’t. Greg Abbot is a poor excuse for a human being, as is Paxton. Good luck, Texas, you voted for these two idiots.

there are more unknowns than there are knowns, Abbott said.

Abbott then explained that as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don’t know we don’t know. It’s premature to be discussing legislative solutions, if there are any, until we know the answers to all these multitude of questions. When asked how long it would take for the Texas legislature to consider reasonable gun control laws Abbott replied until the twelfth of never and that’s a long, long time.

Abbott said that the most important thing is the community’s response to the tragedy and said speaking to the family of the victims of “this heinous crime” was “probably the toughest thing I’ve had to do as governor.”

Do something about the guns and you won’t have to speak to the families of victims , and communities won’t have to respond to these kinds of tragedies - not as many, anyway.

We can all up and move to the West Coast, which is priming to become its own country - with its own trade, environmental, gun etc., laws. Then the real Americans will be rid of us and our pesky tax dollars.

Well in this case they will probably claim a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy. Sure he was a bit late getting there, but if someone at the church had one maybe they would have stopped him sooner.

AG says we need more guns at church, guess god needs some help?

As long as Texas is ruled by the big money Right and the contributions of gun manufacturers, as with any of the other States, then the laws won’t change.

While there is a misguided belief that having everyone ‘packing’ is a solution, just ask law enforcement the peril that they face everyday with so many guns on the street. Every traffic stop or every encounter can be considered a potentially at risk situation.

I am close to those who carry weapons for a living at various levels. They all make the following very clear:

  1. Even highly trained officers can be just average shots on a practice range and worse under an active shooter situation.

  2. Believing the average Joe can pull a weapon and ‘save the day’ is less than 75% likely and gives everyone a false sense of security.

  3. In an active shooter situation, everyone with a weapon is considered a bad actor and could be mistaken and is at risk. There are numerous stories of those who do carry weapons and who have been in active shooter situations, particularly those who are active or ex-military, who have decided not to pull their weapon for fear of being mistaken for a bad actor.

These politicians know all of this, but money talks.

There is a reason so many elected officials including the head of the EPA travel with large security details.

Too many guns in civilian hands put all of us at high risk.

If more guns make us safer, then why do they all have security?

How was it that he was able to get a gun? By all the facts that we know, he was not supposed to have access to a gun. So, how did this happen? That’s just one of the unknowns out there, we are in search of answers to these questions and the answers will be coming to light here in the coming days and before we can solve the problem we need to know the answers to all these multitude of questions.”

Translation- The Republicans are looking for a way to blame Obama, Holder, Hillary Clinton, Operation Fast and Furious…

…In an active shooter situation, everyone with a weapon is considered a bad actor …

Yeah this is the thing I always think about. If everyone has a gun, how doe the police, much less all the folks holding guns, know who to shot? It would be a fucking nightmare!
