Discussion: Texas Gov. Defends Decision To Order State Troopers To Monitor U.S. Military

Discussion for article #235982

Best line from one of his own party is former state Rep. Todd Smith, who has accused Abbott of “pandering to idiots.” Indeed Abbott knows there is no takeover planned, he is just pandering.

Plus what does he mean by “monitor”? The military is not just going to allow you to observe their training exercises. The guys he is sending must be rolling their eyes thinking “is this clown for real”?

Thank you, sir, for removing the last infinitesimal doubt I may have had regarding whether you might in fact not be qualified to be governor of one of the largest states in the USA and economies in the world.

Then why would several prominent GOPers write editorials slamming this? Or, don’t they understand who butters the Guvnah’s bread?

I thought these maroons were going to secede from the Union? Can they hurry up and do it already.

You dummy - that’s why we’re invading Texas, to prevent that from happening!

Just another confirmation that Texas has more than it’s share of nutbags.

To quote Julia Sugarbaker, “This is the South. We don’t hide our crazy relatives in the attic. We bring them down and seat them right in the middle of the living room.”

If I’m charitable, what the governor has done is akin to assuaging the anxieties of some 7 year old boys who are certain that there is a boogeyman in the closet; and perhaps one under the bed, who’s going to steal them away to his lair; by opening up the closet door, showing them that there’s nobody there and holding their hands until they fall asleep.

Thousands of Texans fear chem-trails. Why hasn’t Abbott dispatched monitors to oversee all commercial airlines, the U.S. Air Force, NASA and the U.S. Space command? Maybe Texas should demand to see the proprietary engineering plans for all of Boeing’s and GE’s engines? You know, since the Governor is responsible to act as a communication conduit between various parties and Texas residents fearing the actions of said parties.

Hear hear. Hurry up please.

Next the Texan nuts will be attacking military installations in their state. Could be the perfect excuse to remove all government/military installations in that sink hole of crazy known as Texas.

Why do it half-ass? Just remove Texas entirely. 49 is a nice number.

Swap Texas for Puerto Rico, we won’t even have to change the flag.

As long as we get to keep Austin.

I was just about to make that comment when I saw yours, funny.

+1 on keeping Austin, and keeping it weird.

" someone has to be in charge of gathering and disseminating information and we stepped in to play that role,"
Hmm, yes, so did Goebbels.

“Governor, do you have anything to say about the actual shootings that occurred in Texas yesterday?”…

“Governor?”…

“Anything?”…

What the hell does “I frankly think that there was an overreaction to the simple fact that someone has to be in charge of gathering and disseminating information and we stepped in to play that role," have to do with ordering the state guard to monitor the military exercise? One sounds like an act of cooperation with and active participation in Jade Helm 15 and the other sounds like siding with the nuts.
