An asshole.

I seem to remember some over-the-top outrage when the Maine arrest record of a certain boy-king from Texas became public information right before an election (or more correctly, before an election was stolen). At the time, he would have been about the same age as Beto.

I wonder what changed…?

This is the second time Cruz or the GOP or both have launched one of these stupid attacks only to have it fall completely flat and what bounce there was to it bounced back on them.

First Cruz started a thing about Beto’s name. That would be Ted (Raffael) Cruz making fun of someone else’s name.

Now this. Boy they are desperate and boy Beto is squeaky clean apparently cause all they can come up with is his name and his old punk rock band? hahahahahahahahaha

Third. You left out Whatagate.

The #BetoBurger is quite filling and just what Real Texans crave.

I guess I didn’t know they’d made a thing out of his skateboarding through Whataburger, but if they did, yeah - 3d time and every time sillier than the last.

Cheney too. I mean, Cheney two, he has two drunk driving convictions, one age 21, one age 22.

“Cruz has never been arrested, but was once ticketed for underage alcohol possession when he was 17 and police stopped him and found unopened beer in his car.”

“Cruz has also pled guilty to several misdemeanor charges over the course of his political career, including Insufferable Smuggery, Overbearing Wankery, and Aggrevated Jackassery in the First Degree.”

Give Cruz a hand…a back hand!

Though these are arrests, charges dropped and charges dismissed means he was not found guilty is any of the charges. DUI and class leading to dismissal of charge means no funding of guilt. But, yeah, criminal. I hat innocent until found guilty of charges thing. AP strikes again under the IOKIYAR standard in the special “applies to democrats” style manual.

Also the whiffle of the Cruz camp, calling Beto supporters “triple meat Whataburger liberals” led to #TexanAsWhataburger and many orders at Whataburgers for WhataBetos. Group pictures of folks holding Beto signs in front of Whataburgers, etc.

To me, it feels very much like 2008. Back then they threw whatever goddamn stupid mud that came to their empty mind and none of them stuck. In some ways it rather helped us.

“I wonder what changed?”

The party affiliation of those involved.

I don’t care if he robbed a church. As far as I know O’Rourke never kissed the ass of a man that insulted his wife and accused his father of complicity in an assassination.

They should make an ad with all the insults that Trump has thrown Cruz way, including wife and father. Then play a video of Cruz sucking up to Trump, close with a voice over "Andrew Jackson he ain’t ".

It is all Cruz has.

Well, this isn’t so bad. The Texas GOP could have released O’Rourke’s unredacted security clearance application or the a list of the Russian agents he is handling.

I’m so glad that at least some States haven’t abolished those wonderful common law crimes.

I had a law professor who told the tale of his early days working in a DA’s office. The police had apprehended a guy who did a stretch for child molestation - he was hanging around an elementary school playground. The problem, however, was that they didn’t know what to charge him with. He wasn’t breaking any law, and wasn’t on probation (so no conditions). My professor said he suggested using a common law crime: Mopery with intent to gawk. He said the DA threw him out of his office.

My grandnephews are always puzzled when I threaten to have them brought up on this charge.
