Discussion: Texas GOP Lawmaker Compares Secular Government To Holocaust

Maybe he just watched the Sixth Sense, and he’s convinced that he also hears dead people, and of course speaks for all of them and for God … but fuck the mothers who want a say in whether or not to carry out a pregnancy to term. I think every single man who ever makes statements like this asshat should have a watermelon forced up their anus, which will then be sewn shut for 9 months … ok, since the fetus actually does develop and grow in size … only for 4 or 5 months … which is being far kinder than they are to women.

More proof of the existence of the “American Taliban”.
These same people pull out Godwins Law to bash their political opponents over the head, and in the same breath lament that the current BLACK member of the White House is “not as strong” and wish for a (White, Male) despot like Vladimir Putin in the White House.
fools.
It was called the Dark Ages for a reason.

Exactly, Mr. Tilley. Like his namesake GOVERNOR, this Perry is the LONE RANGER defending WHITE CHRISTIAN AMERICANS from the oppression that they/WE SUFFER!!

Wow. Mr. Perry has, I guess, not absorbed the fact that the Holocaust involved the death of millions of people.

“Is it not the same than when our government continues to perpetuate laws that lead citizens away from God?”

Damned well not.

I fear greatly for our freedom if these psychopaths take over another branch of government.

If we don’t let fundamentalist Christians run the nation like a gigantic fundamentalist Christian church, why, that would be like shooting Jews in the back.

The operators of the camp museum (Sachsenhausen?) are probably going over the signs and other materials presented at the museum to find out how they could possibly have left a visitor leave with such a warped lesson from the visit. They will search in vain. They did not create his perversions and delusions.

By the way, Perry, if it was the Sachsenhausen camp that you visited, the Nazis didn’t send only Jews there to die. Among those rounded up and sent to Sachsenhausen were communists, homosexuals, former trade-union leaders, and Social Democrats. You could borrow their list and just keep adding the groups that you hate until you have a complete list for yourself.

Several things about Sen. Perry as he is my state senator, as well as a neighbor and our wives used to work together so I am more familiar with him than most on this site: I think he is a microcosm for what is going on in the GOP takeover by the tea party.

Perry was not supported by the local GOP. In fact, moderate GOP candidate was an insider in GWBush’s administration as well as a Texas Tech employee and lost in a landslide to this guy.

Perry ran on a platform that focused primarily on stopping illegal immigration. (For some reason, West Texas Christians don’t see any conflict with admonitions in the Bible to treat the immigrants well and their ideas to imprison and deport them).

Perry is largely supported financially by a select few businessmen who own the most inhumane businesses in the area and desire less government oversight.

What makes his victory all the more depressing is that Lubbock is a college town full of college educated citizens. Yet, drive through the parking lot and you find segregationist and confederate bumper stickers almost as prevalent as TTU bumper stickers. These kids aren’t getting educated, they are getting diplomas to get jobs. I’m all for STEM students, but we need to do a better job at educating our students to think critically.

And to tell you what this guy is like, he doesn’t believe in public education despite his wife and daughter being public school teachers, he voted against funding for programs for his own district because of his opposition to taxes of any kind. He sees government as evil.

One other observation: When will the Bible-thumping politicians in Texas realize that since we Texans have the worst health care for the poor in the country, God must be punishing us with the Ebola virus?

But then there’s that pesky 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the Establishment Clause, what are we to do with that??

Something tells me that Texas state Sen. Charles Perry ® is an expert on Nazis. He may also be an expert on circuses, since he clearly shares DNA with Bozo.

I live in Kansas, so I understand your pain.

Especially since reasonable people eschew 2nd Amendment remedys.

If they take over the Senate in 2014, then it is the collective fault of voters, who having common sense and recognizing the need for good governance, don’t turn out in numbers to prevent another 2010.

GOTV!!

But somewhere Poe is laughing.

Oh shit! I left my prayer rug at the Texas/Mexico border or I would rush to this history-challenged fool’s, actually this dumb SOB’s office and ask him to join me in a solemn prayer to make religion supreme in governing this country and that Texas will soon be the first initiate of the U.S. Caliphate.

They will only win if people do not do their civic and national duty to get out and Vote.

We must vote as if our very lives depend on it. The damage the Republicans have in store is sick and they cannot hold any more positions of power that can harm us. Start voting them out now. Time is not standing still and the consequences are dire if we let them implement the Koch agenda. This is not hyperbole. Look at what they are funding and what they are doing from the school level on up. They are dangerous.

I hope you are voting.

And the Roberts court only upheld the religion part and not in the correct way. They have trampled all the other rights in Amendment 1 except their self imposed enhanced right to shove their religion down everyone else’s throat.

Thank you for your summary.

Is it just me, or does the GOP use “Idea Balls” to write their speeches?
