Discussion for article #238355
“Why do you need to bring a gun into a store where there are kids?” she asked. “We are not in the Wild, Wild West.”
Indeed, Madame, but unfortunately for those Texas residents with a modicum of sanity and your counterparts here in Arizona, there are too many voters, who, when asked: “What time is it?”, respond: “1875.”
Requesting that gun fetishes not display their man sized pacifier. That what passes for bold and brave good old Texas common sense. Only in America would such an action be called bold and brave.
I couldn’t find the part of this article where people “freak out.” Was it cut?
No–it was TPMzed.
Mary Jones, who was with her 15-year-old grandson, said she was happy that Whataburger took a stand against open carry.
“Why do you need to bring a gun into a store where there are kids?” she asked. "We are not in the Wild, Wild West."
Mary Jones' power of observation: FAIL.
“I think most gun owners that know this policy are simply not going to go to Whataburger, like me,” he said.
Win!
Back in Matt Dillon’s day, the wild, wild, west was Kansas.
I thought that we already frown upon having your penis out in public?
Prosthetic or otherwise…
The thought of open carry in restaurants reminds me of…
Has McDonald’s followed suit yet? If so, we should be very concerned. I mean, what’s a man to do when he’s feeding his kids some sub-par pseudo-food and this guy shows up?
Everyone, please write to Mayor McCheese ASAP and tell him we won’t stand for such negligent disregard for our right to defend ourselves.
I’m a gun owner, but if I lived in a state where I felt the need to carry around a gun all the time, I’d move. Having a bunch of shoot-em-up lunatics leaving firearms in unattended, parked cars seems likely to result in even more guns in the hands of undesirables. I’m not surprised, though, since every day brings a new report of lunacy in Texas. Maybe the cow pies seeping into the water table have a greater affect than anticipated?
“We are not in the Wild, Wild West.”
Wow. Way to miss the point, lady. You’re right that you’re not in the Wild, Wild West. The point is that they desperately DESPERATELY want to be.
Mad Cow (pie) Disease…
LOL! That scene cracks me up. Love me some Donny Cheads too.
Yes!! Arrest open-carriers for indecent exposure!!!
Great idea!
Given what Brownback has done to the state…it’s more or less a post-apocalyptic version of the old west now.
Whataburger can merely claim a religious exemption to discriminate against gun carriers. Easy peasy.
And we know how that needed.
“Why do you need to bring a gun into a store where there are kids?” she asked.
Why do you need to bring a gun into a store where there are adults?
“We are not in the Wild, Wild West.”
No, just the Wild, Nutty West. Anyway, yay for these restaurant owners. If they “cave” to anything, it is to common sense!
