Send over a dessert, it could save your life.

Polish their uniform buttons. Shine their shoes. Don’t forget to inform on any neighbors who may voice dismay with police shooting of unarmed civilians.

It’s really amazing how the party that’s supposedly suspicious of government intrusion on liberty uncritically worships at the feet of the government employees who are empowered to deprive citizens of their lives.

Or…how about we treat them with the same respect they treat us, because they’re not our superiors. They’re our employees, and deserve the same treatment as everyone else. Respect is earned, not given just because you were given a badge. Cops are human just like everyone else, and deserve the same treatment. No better, no worse. And if they’re not calling me sir, I’m not calling them sir. But then again, I don’t call anyone sir, since that’s bullshit. We’re all equals in this country.

And is it bad that I’m a Texan and have never heard of this guy before, or ever seen his face? Local politics are so boring and pointless.

Any cop who feels they are part of a “thin blue line” separating law and order from anarchy and chaos should resign. That kind of self-indulgent arrogance and contempt for the rest of human society will never end well. I don’t have any respect that kind of cop and I don’t want their so-called “protection”. Just resign.

What if they are working the night shift? Can we buy them breakfast then? How does that work?

“Police officers are judged 24/7, 365 days a year for their entire career.”

Kind of like black folk in many parts of America.

sorry, but there was something very disturbing about the tone and images from that memorial service. this country is headed on an extremely dangerous path; and i frankly expect serious civil unrest within the next five-ten years…

I want to remind Texans and the rest of our country that these brave souls are the thin line between a country of law and order and a society of total lawlessness where no one is safe,” Patrick said in the statement.

Well, that is a rather substantial diminution of the entire religious establishment in the country.

Not to mention, he is describing a strong culture of dependency on the government. I feel so enslaved.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick

OK. I’ll warn everyone now,
Watch this one. He’s a scary MFer.
He has a brain. Albeit pretty much the epitome of skewed-hard-RWNJ.
A former sportscaster-- he knows how to show a persona to the public.

And I’ll bet cash-- he’s the one puppeteering Gov Greg Abbott-- post-election.
Abbott didn’t come off as a nutcase until both were sworn in.
Now he can’t effing shut-up about tinfoil conspiracies.

And IMO-- it’s Dan Patrick pushing agenda-- out Abbott’s piehole.

I’ll keep my mouth shut about how I was treated by cops when I was younger and how I wished pain and death on them because of the things they did to me for no reason. Now that I’m older and my hair is shorter they don’t give me a second look but I still don’t trust them.

As NWA said, Fuck da Police.

When it’s “sovereign citizens” killing cops, it’s just business.

How many of the following are on display in Texass??

Fourteen Defining Characteristics Of Fascism

  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of “need.” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread
domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

  6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government’s policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Start calling our officers sir and ma’am all of the time. They might not shoot you…

Every time you see an officer anywhere, let them know you appreciate their service to our community and you stand with them, as long as ir’s not in their gunsights.

If you are financially able, when you see them in a restaurant on
duty pick up their lunch check, send over a dessert, or simply stop by
their table briefly and say thank you for their service because the military NEVER hears “Thanks for your service so MY kid doesn’t get shot.”

Put their charities on your giving list or they’ll shoot you.

If your local law enforcement has volunteer-citizen job opportunities, sign up, unless you’re a ni(CLANG)
