The Republicans don’t “like him” as they recognize and fear someone loved by the cameras…As proved by the slimy Ted Cruz hotfooting it to a scrum seconds after a Committee meet he failed to attend to give a performance nearly as pitiful as the minority President’s Black History dog and pony.

Cruz rushed to the hearing room but didn’t even address the issue of Sessions misrepresenting his record. He talked about Gorsuch instead.
I think that Franken would make a good candidate to go against Trump in 2020. He’s quick on his feet. He is smart. He can be funny. He has bubba appeal. He chose to go under the radar a bit when first elected, so he could serve his state and also get his bearings and I think that that has served him well.
He handled this well. Cornyn was a condescending f*** and Franken stood his ground and called out the hypocrisy.
Cruz didn’t have the balls to face Franken.
Wait, are we loving Al again, or are we still mad and talking of primarying him because he’s voted for some of Trump’s appointees?

This is worth watching, almost an hour. Franken unloading on Cruz, Cornyn unloading on Franken for doing that so naturally Franken unloads on Cornyn. Sleepy Iowa senator says, whoa fellas, it’s time for my nap…
Franken is steadily emerging as a leader in the Senate…
He will have the cojones to stand up to anyone me thinks…

People need to give these politicians room to maneuver.
He’s, like all of them should, doing more TV. He needs to make a couple of major policy speeches THAT GET COVERED so they have to be on catnip issues or, more importantly, issues that have been catnip-ized for media consumption.

It is almost like that he has more weapons to use than most, I think it is because of his roots in satire, the highest form of politcal expression…
If we could only get more democratic candidates to model senators Franken, Sanders and Warren, Democrats might actually generate some actual enthusiasm for upcoming elections.
