Discussion: Tenn. GOPers Not Happy That Koch Group Meddling With Medicaid Bill

Discussion for article #236070

“They (AFP) have a full-time staff, they’ve poured in a lot of money indirectly and directly,” Ingram said. “It’s largely to push whatever agenda they have and influence, frankly, our elected officials, our issues, disproportionately more than any of us as individual voters can.”

Don’t blame the left, they’re on YOUR side.

But that’s the problem…they don’t dare blame the Right or they’ll get torn to shreds.

You get what you pay for

“McCormick lamented that AFP does not necessarily represent the interests of Tennessee residents.”

One of those words was not necessary to get the point across, so I struck it out.

“Haslam himself said he did not think that AFP had much influence over the decisions of state legislators.”

Golly, i wonder why the governor would say that???

House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick ® told The Tennessean that AFP “very unfairly attacked Kevin Brooks in particular” over the Medicaid bill. McCormick lamented that AFP does not necessarily represent the interests of Tennessee residents.

“The AFP represents a small group of people and a small group of donors. They’re not from Tennessee,” he said.

I would say “too bad”, and wish them luck un-shitting the bed, but my brother is one Tennessean who would have benefited from Medicaid expansion. Perhaps other Tennessee lawmakers will finally see the light.

“I think (legislators) tend to come into that with their own impressions and then listen to the arguments, both sides.”

Yes, those are butane lighter burns on this guy’s fingers. Know what I think? I think ambitious “(legislators)” who will be needing big money donations to realize their ambitions for higher and more powerful and more lucrative offices pay close fucking attention to what big money groups want and then do it so they can earn those donations. It’s not fucking rocket science and you ain’t foolin’ nobody, Crackhead.

One day, even the REPUBLICANS feeding at the Koch Bros. campagin-cash trough will realize that FASCISTS do NOT play by “the rules”. They don’t “support you” they are fattening you up for slaughter.
That is why we call them FASCISTS.

Gee, Republicans, if only someone had warned you about the negative effect Citizens United would almost certainly unleash, as well as the evil influences the Koch brothers empire brings to the table. Oh, wait…

¨Brooks told The Tennessean that he merely asked his Republican colleagues to approach the bill to expand medicaid with an open mind.¨

Well, right there’s your problem.

Uh, does he mean they’re what certain people in the south used to call “Outside Agitators”?

.

Republicans in Florida last month also expressed frustration with AFP’s attempts to influence legislation.

There’s a very simple remedy for that, guys – refuse to listen to them. Tell your friends and neighbors not to listen to them. And most importantly, insist to your legislative representatives that they not listen to them. They have lots of money, yes, but they don’t have a vote. You do.

Dear Tennessee GOP, the Kochs live in Kansas and New York. They don’t live in Tennessee. Why the hell are you letting the carpetbaggers control your decisions on how you treat your own people. Maybe instead of lamenting you should grow a pair.

“Haslam himself said he did not think that AFP had much influence over the decisions of state legislators.” well of course not Mr Smirk would never jeopardize his paycheck… All the REPUGS want in this state are more of the free health care as provided by charities like the recent event here in Knoxville. Knoxville News Sentinel - Remote Area Medical provided nearly a half-a-million dollars in free care at its Knoxville clinic over the weekend (of Feb 9th).
