Discussion for article #242977
This is ugly disgusting rhetoric.
“The Japanese had no history of killing Americans…”
Oh dear in god in heaven. Did he really just say that?
Republicans like Glen Casada continue to demonstrate that right-wing ignorance and bigotry knows no bounds.
Tennessee state Rep. Glen Casada ®:
My comments were made from the fact, after observing Syrian Muslim refugees get into France and the effect in Paris, here in our own state we’ve had a Muslim who was, in essence, educated here in the state of Tennessee kill four soldiers in Chattanooga. I think it’s time that we take a strong look at those that we let into this country, and I think we need to do a firm vetting before we let them into our state…
Or, you know, just throwing this out there, maybe we should take a strong look at those whom we let buy guns and do a firm vetting of them before giving them a gun license.
Since and including 9/11, there have been about 3400 deaths related to terrorism - over the period of a little more than 14 years time. That’s about how many die, on average, from gun violence every 5 weeks. Yet this guy, Casada, wants to make it about one shooter being Islamic, instead of about all the violence prone assholes who are allowed to get guns?
Go fuck yourself, Cosada, preferably with the barrel end of a loaded Kalashnikov.
Pence, now Casada; I’m on outrage overload here! Time to find me a nitro tab and lie down.
I’m going out on a short limb, and assuming that TN State Rep. Casada (R-Stupid) doesn’t realize that Kuwait & Syria are two different countries. oh heck, we know they all look alike after a while, so it’s understandable that state rep. Casada is unable to distinguish between two or more people of a middle-east heritage.
Who vetted this wingnut and why do either of them have their jobs?
Revised GOP National Anthem:

and the home of the brave?
Time for a name change. Let’s start calling the Republicans what they are:
the Crazy White Peoples Fascist Party of America. Truth in advertising, I say.
