Exhibit A for why you don’t shoot the black kid just because you can: he might just save your miserable pig life.

I’d have phrased it somewhat differently, but yes, the general idea comes to mind.

Love this story. That the city commission is going to honor him is swell, but I hope he will recognize that he does have worth as a human being.

It would be better if the police department and others recognize it as well.

Be interesting to see if they let him in without the cuffs.

Also - did it really take 40 minutes for the EMTs to respond to an officer down call? Probably time for a word between the chief and the head of the emergency services department.

And - I hope this is an object lesson for Cop #2, who looks like he’s eight months pregnant. Time to get on the treadmill, ol’ hoss.

Very cool, but we had to see it in extra slow motion? It’s at the 38 minute mark of the video that the action starts.

I deleted my comment about going him there without “bracelets.” Want to keep this positive.

Video is unwatchable for someone with my level of ADD hypochondria. Someone needs to do some video magic and create a clip at a reasonable speed.

Cop should get one of those “I Can Breathe” shirts.

Whew! I thought something was wrong with my computer. After watching for what seemed like eternity, I finally gave up.

There is a speed setting, if you click “settings”. However it only lets you go so far as to double the speed which is still crazy slow.

Or you can fast forward.

Fast forward with your finger on the little button, that is.

Well, I’m sure the kid was thinking “if this guy dies they’re going to blame me” and he was probably right

Thanks for the heads up on the time.

It does seem kinda nuts that it took the Ft. Lauderdale fire dept. or EMTs 40 minutes to show up. Imagine if this were happening out on the streets. How long would it take them then?

After watching the molasses-speed video and the equally slow EMT response, I really do have to admit that the cliché is true: life down South really is slower-paced.

No, it took about 6 minutes. The video is in slow motion (and I do means SLOW). There is a partially visible clock at the top showing time. He goes down at 20:39 (8:39 PM) and the EMT’s are there are 20:45. The clock at the bottom is just the duration of video viewing.
