Well, its doubtful there will be any turn to the middle for the general from the GOP this campaign. Instead all the candidates are piling on rapidly to show in the most public ways possible that they are completely unhinged from any notion of a constitutional republic.

The First Amendment is foundational to all other freedoms we enjoy and it is tragic that in America today, our own citizens would have to worry about being targeted or arrested for merely living out their religious convictions
Yet Rafael Cruz fails to observe that the very First Amendment he’s praising makes it illegal for Kim Davis to do what she’s doing - using the power of the State to enforce a particular set of religious beliefs on the public at large.
It’s called the Establishment Clause, Senator, and it’s kind of a big deal.

Cruz is known to be exceptionally intelligent and is a graduate of Harvard Law School. He has to know that this clerk is legally jailed. Yet he preaches the exact opposite. I am beginning to think he is a sociopath. Seriously.
