Not really. First of all, as someone pointed out, it’s a gun range. Secondly, Cruz, who is for all intents and purposes treated as a white man, does not get the kind of violence directed towards him that Obama (a black man) or Clinton (a white woman) does. So, when he starts going on about how “if it was Obama or Clinton”, he’s playing the Liberal Media Bias trope to be the victim. He could have said that the picture was in poor taste without having to drag anyone else into it and he would have been right on the money. Instead, he had to play the Victim, which is bull in this case.

I’m falling down on the job, here, as I saw the photo and I didn’t even connect the gun-to-head shot. I’m betting the vast majority didn’t. He was at a shooting range, for dog’s sake! He and his handlers totally bungled that one – they are the ones who should check the optics.

This guy’s just a living, breathing disaster to himself, to his party, to the Senate, to everything around him.
At the same event, he made gun jokes a couple of days after the Charleston massacre. Now, he invents a ridiculous, entirely made up victimhood complaint about the background of a photograph that he put himself in front of!
Cruz is the candidate for people who go through live angry about their own fuck-ups.
