Well, partly it’s that he’s winning by a huge margin, they’re saying over at 538. That wasn’t expected. But also it gives them something to talk about—got to have your “narrative” going on. They’re also wondering if Carson’s people are breaking primarily for Cruz. It would make sense but they’re being cautious.

I would also argue that some soils (even in Kansas), with its rich humus and assorted minerals vital for nutritious foods, is smarter than a good number of the GOP voters in Kansas.

Well, they ran Nixon and Dewey on the rebound. The Democrats haven’t done that since the William Jennings Bryan trifecta, which goes back well over a century or so.

Yes, but they have a particular animus towards their “losers”. Democrats don’t despise Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, or Carter. In fact, we hold them in high regard.

Cruz as the GOP Nominee will probably not get AS MANY OF these kinds of people that Trump could get

  • People smitten with celebrity

  • People wanting someone outside of being an actual “politician”

  • People who fancy themselves as “mavericks”

  • People who are “new voters”

  • People who are HIGHLY comfortable with authoritarianism

  • People who are out-and-out racists (David Duke and THEN SOME)

  • People who wish to associate with millionaires (which TO THEM is related to voting for Trump)

  • People who are dissatisfied with the Democratic Party who chose “door # 2” (door #1 being Bernie)

Cruz leading significantly in Maine, too, and that was by no means expected. Hat tip 538. If it turns out that Cruz has big fun on the bayou too it will stick in Trumpie’s craw most uncomfortably. Heh.
