I thought the news said the guy was a U.S. war veteran. I did not hear anything about his status as far as country he was from so it’s possible I missed that detail…

[/quote] The report did say US Veteran, which does not specify country of citizenship. Non-USA citizens are a common part of the US military as one does not need to be a US citizen to join the US military.

I don’t think Cruz was implying that the intruder was not American. I think he was simply trying to make a smart-ass remark about using political correctness in our terms, the point of which I do not get, especially since the intruder was indeed an undocumented visitor to the White House. There is nothing remotely funny, or remotely offensive to the President from my viewpoint, about calling the guy an undocumented visitor.
