Discussion: Ted Cruz: 'I Stand With Kim Davis'

If George Washington, who was a big guy with a temper, could hear what this despicable lying demagogue was saying today, he would grab him by his ankles and swing his head against a goddamned tree.

Speak English, raghead! (I mean silk top hat head.)

She should stay there until she convinces the judge that she will follow the law and do her job, or resign. Failing that, let her rot.

“Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny. Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America.

Is Senator Cruz willing to donate $1,000.00 to my designated charity for each prior example in American history that I find?

Of course! You’ll stand with anyone south of Attila the Hun.

While Christ’s simple admonition of “give unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s…”, is the very antithesis of these demonic christian perverts. The same ones, whose ancestors dons their Sunday “get-ups”, watch the lynchings of blacks for decades before heading home for their family chicken dinner. Sick Mo’Fo’s.

They house the jailed women separately, you greasy pervert.

The attorneys for the plaintiffs suggested that she could be released if she promised not to interfere with giving people the marriage licenses they are entitled to have.

She refused, and will be spending the night in jail.

Yay. Another bigoted moron who is against the rule of law.

I have to admit, when I first read the headline I thought that meant Ted is now in a jail cell with her.

The moment the bigot was thrown in jail I KNEW the most dangerous place in America would be between Ted Cruz and a television camera.

Someone should ask this ass hat and the other Republicans whether they would uphold their Constitutional oath as president if an when it conflicts with their religious beliefs.

My how far things have come from the days of questioning whether a Catholic might be beholding to the Pope over the Constitution, to wearing their defiance of the very clear language of our Founding Document as a point of pride.

The guys is a firebrand. That is for sure. Everything he is saying is straight to the religious right base and pandering big time. Nothing he is saying makes a whole lot of sense.

I wonder how these guys would react if somebody would not give concealed carry permits out because they were a pacifist. Sort of the same thing. I doubt they would be singing the same tune.

Can someone with a law degree – from a reputable place, not a diploma mill like Harvard – clarify whether being jailed for contempt directly from the courthouse constitutes an arrest?

When she fills out her next job application, would she have to answer yes to “have you ever been arrested?”

Good then go stay with her in prison.

Nice attempt at a dig at San Francisco, dude – but one issue is not like the other. There are many nuances to those Sanctuary City laws that they address a whole host of issues regarding immigrants and their Constitutional rights Yes, as you are well aware, Ted, anyone on U.S. soil has U.S. Constitutional rights – many that these SC laws attempt to address. Additionally, the courts have yet to invalidate those laws–very much unlike what the courts have done with marriage equality and how that doesn’t affect folks’ rights to their sincerely-held beliefs, etc., but does not give them veto power over others’ Constitutional rights. Dude, you already know all of this.

And that is precisely why Cubanadian Cruz should have his US citizenship revoked. He has no regard for the US Constitution, our laws, and even our Supreme Court. Take thyself to a theocracy preferably in the middle east, Teddyboy, you’ll fit right in!

I am no lawyer, but I would say that if they booked her, finger-printed her, etc., then she was arrested. Anyone in the know about the technicalities here?
