Discussion: Ted Cruz Calls On John Kerry To Resign

A Kerry response could be: “I would quote Dick Cheney, but Sen. Cruz is unlikely to do this because his head in the way.”

Israel has created an apartheid state in the West Bank. Settlers within the West Bank have far fewer rights than the Israeli settlers.

American Friends Service Committee

Illegal under international law, settlements are built on confiscated or stolen Palestinian land, are one of the core justifications for the building of the wall and the restriction of Palestinian movement within the West Bank, contribute to forced displacement, severely limit Palestinian access to basic resources including land and water, and perpetuate a system of segregation and legal and structural inequality between Palestinians and Israelis.

Gaza is a bit different than an apartheid state in that Israel removed the settlers and allows some independent actions within a blockaded state. Gaza is a Bantustan created by Israel as an administrative device so they can claim not to be an occupying power.

Senator Cruz, it is my belief that having thus proven yourself unsuitable for your position and that before any further harm is done to our great nation, you should jump off the nearest high bridge.

Bibby can’t speak for Israel himself? He doesn’t need Cruz looking out for his interests. Nobody needs Cruz’s 2 cents worth on anything. This crackpot is a terrible opportunist and grandstands on anything that comes up in the news. The Bush Crime Family must hate having to deal with his antics in Texas.

HA! I LOVE this guy. He really is the best thing to happen to moderates and progressives. Seriously, what better could we expect from Texas? Hutchinson was a filibuster queen anyway, so at least we have him out there saying RIDICULOUS shit every week, reminding everyone what would happen if the GOP took control.

I love him. He’s so effective for the Democrats I’d call him a Manchurian Candidate, if I had shit for brains and a tinfoil hat and believed conspiracies like that.

“…shocking lack of sensitivity to the incendiary and damaging nature of his rhetoric.”

Has Cruz been listening to himself lately - his rhetoric does damage to the US every time he opens his mouth. He should stay with re-reading green eggs and ham because he even got that wrong.

Let’s not let the facts get in the way.

Bieber we’d have to take back, as he was born and raised in Canada by Canadian parents, albeit apparently in a trailer.

Cruz, however, is all yours to keep. He’s of an American mother born in Wilmington, Delaware and a Cuban born, naturalized American father, and was only born in Calgary because his parents were temporarily in Canada working in the oil patch. What Americans like to call an ‘anchor baby’. Except that they all went back State side when Teddy was still a baby, and he was raised, schooled, and politically indoctrinated as a ‘natural born’ US citizen.

The Biebs, well ok. But Ted? No way, Jose.

well, that would be fine if he agrees to resign over the tens of billions lost during the shutdown that he helped to cause

Yeah. Get right on that, Kerry.

TPM does. Desperately. Over and over.

In a floor speech, Cruz accused his former Senate colleague of displaying a “shocking lack of sensitivity to the incendiary and damaging nature of his rhetoric.”

Oh the irony is beyond rich!

I guess the remarkable thing would be if Ted Cruz ever once took his responsibility to the nation as a public servant seriously.

While I’m no fan of Ted Cruz, I don’t like Secretary Kerry’s statement either. There is no two-state solution, at least not in the long-term. Giving up land in the Oslo Accords didn’t stop Palestinians from attacking Israel and a peace treaty here won’t either. The Palestinians won’t stop until they wipe the Jewish state off the face of the earth. Even if Abbas is serious about peace (and I doubt he is), he has no more control over his people than Arafat did. They won’t be able to stop Hamas or Hezbollah or anyone else.

Sadly, this is a fight to the death. And the U.S. better be on Israel’s side.

Shut up, you posturing attention whore: the grownups are talking.
