Discussion: Ted Cruz Calls Net Neutrality 'Obamacare For The Internet'

Discussion for article #230007

Putting an important issue - for their 1% overlords - in a language their T’bagger base will vote against their own best interest.

Fuck You Ted Cruz.
I’m sure all your supporters will fire up those dial-up modems and log into their AOL accounts to send off an ALL CAPS email to their (10 years deceased) Congressman about it. Right after “The Price is Right” is over.

Now that Obama fully supports it and can’t just be accused of lip service expect a bunch of people who would normally support this to get ODS.

Keep it up Teddy boy, never miss an opportunity to flap your lips and make us aware of our overwhelming propensity to show your ignorance on shit you know nothing of.

You zombie base feeds on such ignorance.

The majority of us …not so much.

In answer to @amandacarpenter I don’t like my Internet and don’t want to keep it because it is too slow and too expensive.

Of course he does. There’s nothing the plutocrats would like more than to be able to use the intertubez to kill their small business competition, stifle innovation that might end up as competition and control what information is given the most prominence on the intertubez. As I said in the other thread: “If you can’t imagine a world in which giant corporations and political dark money groups actually pay providers to disallowing [sic] their competitors any bandwidth, then you’re not paying attention.”

Cruz would like nothing more than to live in a world in which the Koch brothers and their ilk can offer Comcast $50B per year in exchange for Comcast’s promise that liberal groups would get blocked on their infrastructure. And let the bidding war begin…

“If you like your Internet you can keep it” is exactly what Net Neutrality is about. The rubes who think the government hacked Sharyl Attkisson’s computer will eat this up.

This is the stupidest fucking thing he has ever said. However, Ted Cruz is not a stupid man. He just thinks you are.

Shorter plutocrat/Teatroll lament: “Stop crampin’ my abuse of monopoly!!!”

The next parts of the argument are where the real doublethink comes in from the Randian ideologues, who will tell you that it’s not abusive and anti-competetive behavior that threatens the market but is, in fact, furthering the goal of competition because something something the big industries deserve it because they out-competed the rest and now the little guys will have something to shoot for and try to attain…or some such nonsense.

I think the reason Zombies are so popular in the media is that these folks are truly in charge of a zombie army. They will blame Obama/ D’s no matter the policy and the brain-dead shufflers will just rage along. Helluva way to run a country.

I hope he keeps road-blocking and running his mouth. He’s already the most hated man in Congress and, if we really hit the jackpot, he’ll muscle his way into the 2016 nomination.

God I hate these neocons.

Words have no meaning for these people. It is truly Orwellian how they distort the plain meaning of language.

One way to help save America is to keep Cruz talking constantly. Anything he says rallies many people to the Left and turns off at least a few of the remaining decent people in the GOP.

Net Neutrality is the principle that corporate and big money websites shouldn’t be prioritized over everyone else’s, so of course he’s against it.

I suspect, until the President made comments supporting the concept of net neutrality, that Ted Cruz and ilk had no idea what it was. But, like with all things, as soon as that they learned that the President supported something, they immediately moved to oppose it.
