Discussion: Ted Cruz Adds 21 Delegates With Colorado Sweep

“Two candidates Trump’s campaign told backers to support in one district were not even on the ballot.”

Trump really IS a used-car salesman.

He just makes sh#t up as he goes.

Yes…but. Cruz is still way behind Trump and Trump is set to clean up in NY ( where Cruz is polling last ) and other states.

Cruz’s organization appears to be on a par with Obama’s 2008 campaign operation.

But that’s the only way they’re similar.

Obama drew massive crowds with his effortless charisma and easy charm.

Cruz can’t even get his daughters to put up with him on stage.

Read some Huffpo comments this AM, and it is pretty much delegate schmelegate and Party division for the Repubs. (and the usual deep hate)

Some of the sensible, for a wacko that is, types, say that the Party has to back their delegates choice no matter whether Trump has the lead but not quite the 1237 delegates that are required to cinch the nomination. Others say, and I love this part, that if the filthy establishment ‘steals’ Trump’s righteous path to the nomination that they will; A) sit out the election, B) vote 3rd Party, C) mixture of vote Sanders or Clinton-to teach the GOP what’s what, or D) write in their favorite loon and just accept losing so that the Party leaders will learn and be forced to nominate the ultimate conservative in 2020 (total awesome sauce there).

Cruz is despised by all it seems but he keeps gaining with delegates, so something fishy is afoot?

The Huffpo style is the DailyKos style and they bicker about their idea of how things should go but they dig in re: Hillary. These are the longshot sites that just aren’t having anything to do with the actual leading candidates.

If you want pure bias, blog at the above ; )

HuffPo is an effing snake pit and has been since this started. I took down my subscription.

Just can’t wait til’ The Donald is denied on the 1st ballot…and all hell breaks loose! Why, with the conflagration the flame throwing Trump sheople will cause, the Cuyahoga River might just burst into flames again!

Mmmm…more popcorn please!

Cruz also appeals to Colorado Republican activists who dominate party functions — a deeply conservative, religious crowd with a bug-eyed, frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic streak.

FIFY.

Cruz is despised by all it seems but he keeps gaining with delegates, so something fishy is afoot?

There were articles published last fall that detailed how successful Cruz had been in lining up support at the county level in states all over the nation, and it’s clear his organization is far superior to any of the other GOP candidates. Which is why I became convinced he was going to get the nomination after Walker dropped out.

Obviously Trump has been the big monkey wrench in Cruz’s plans, but the other problem is that Cruz himself is so repellent to anybody but certified Bible-banging Evangelical Dominionists. He’s remarkably easy to loathe.

How many of these delegates were high at the time they voted?

I have to point out that Kos of Daily Kos is supporting Clinton and the comments aren’t a snake pit because they’re monitored for abusive behavior. They’re definitely a pro-democrats site but that doesn’t mean it’s all opinion there or even close to that. Diaries from followers vary but they’re not paid professional journalists like here so opinionated pieces are expected. HuffPo comments are indeed a snake pit and they happily allow opinion to masquerade as news.

“Coloradans, naturally having that pioneer spirit, gravitate toward someone like Cruz.”

“Pioneer spirit” meaning people who long for a time when blacks were property, women couldn’t vote, and non-Christians were burned at the stake.

Coloradans, living in the mountains where it’s really cold, gravitate to Cruz **because he’s from freaking CANADA! **

The Republican shit storm in Cleveland is going to be prime time TV watching. Pass the snacks!!

Actually, from what I have read and seen so far, the nuts and bolts of it are probably superior to Obama’s 2008 campaign operation. They are running an incredibly sophisticated and well targeted machine. Its just that the product they are hawking is so repulsive.

But if somebody less repellent gets a hold of it in 2020, we are going to have a serious fight on our hands.

From what I see, the outsider candidates are pushing the Party their way, the establishment is pulling back the other and the electorate is tearing in a different direction that also includes Trump and Cruz.

Cruz is more organized because a globally despised candidate has to be to get anywhere at all. The Trump honeymoon is coming to an end and the Party sees a real shot at inserting their guy(s). That leaves a thoroughly disgruntled electorate that is already so pissed that they have these two wacks leading them and want more.

The Huffpo crowd is convinced that Hillary is just moments from being arrested and that that leaves the door wide open for the insurgency.
Huge disappointment is coming to these tunnel visioned followers.

Are you sure about that? Maybe I’m getting the sites mixed up but I’d swear that DK is all about the Bern and anti-Clinton when I get linked there.

I’d swear that DK is all about the Bern and anti-Clinton when I get linked there.

Markos Moulitsos (Kos) himself is supporting Clinton, but he doesn’t write the “diaries” that comprise the vast majority of the stuff that you’ll see over there. A large portion of those diaries are by serious Sanders fanatics, and the amount of unhinged lunatic bile directed at Clinton got to be so bad that Moulitsos apparently banned a good number of commenters not long ago. Which in turn solidified the belief of many Sanders supporters that Kos is now just a DLC-style corporatist shill determined to sabotage the Sanders campaign on behalf of the Clinton-Wall Street machine. Given Moulitsos’s long activism AGAINST the DLC Democrats, that allegation is spectacularly absurd, and illustrates how far around the bend a portion of the Sandersphere is.

I stopped spending any real time at DK months ago because the Hillary Derangement Syndrome got so nuts. It’s indistinguishable from the horseshit that was flung at Al Gore by the Naderites in 2000, which of course the Republicans were only too happy to encourage.

The Huffpo crowd is convinced that Hillary is just moments from being arrested and that that leaves the door wide open for the insurgency.

That’s really Jade Helm-style fantasy there. It’s all of piece with the Vince Foster drivel.
