It depends on how you interpret “first settlers”. The first European settlers in North America did not arrive at Jamestown in 1607, but in Florida almost a century earlier. However, if you interpret it to mean that the first settlers of Jamestown arrived in 1607, then it is historically correct (but very narrowly focused).

Give the guy a break. Anyone can confuse the founding of Jamestown with the following seminal event as described in Wikipedia. “May 30, 1510 – Rebel leader Zhu Zhifan is defeated and captured by commander Qiu Yue, ending the Prince of Anhua rebellion.”

I have frequently confused Jamestown with end of the Prince of Anhua rebellion.

is what is this doing for American workers looking for jobs, what is this doing to wages, and we need to have that be at the forefront of our discussion going forward.

Illegal immigration does nothing whatsoever to Wisconsin workers’ wages. If Wisconsin business owners were deprived the convenient distraction of illegal immigrants, they wouldn’t raise wages by one penny and their deliberate refusal to do so would be fully supported and facilitated by every tool at Scott Walker’s disposal, whether legal, questionably legal or otherwise.
