How amazing that the “health authorities” are the ones reporting who died instead of the “law enforcement authorities.”
This kind of insane violence is not supposed to happen in Sweden. Yet this happened on the same day Sweden also doubled its forecast]1 for asylum-seekers this year to 200,000, meaning further strains on municipalities, housing and public services. The scene has been described as chaos, which sounds about right. Even an ambulance crashed. You can see the policy dissonance right on up from the traditional notion of “folkhemmet” (the people’s home) and the adoption of a US-style “melting pot” approach. Today PM Stefan Löfven will travel to Trollhättan on Sweden’s west coast to say something about what has happened. Everybody in Europe will be listening.

WTF? There is nothing in this story that is remotely connected to the immigrant crisis. Trying to gin up some outrage?
And Olof Palme couldn´t conceivably be assinated in a country as peaceable as Sweden. But he was.

I think you miss the point. Here the health authorities are not allowed to talk about deaths from gunshots, or to research them. Federal law says that the stats can’t even be aggregated for public health officials to study.
In Sweden the health authorities are a part of it from the very start.
Hardly. The school has come under criticism from the National School Supervision earlier for its poor security and problems arising from the immigrant neighborhood where it is situated. My point is that Sweden’s public resources are stretched, and the latest migrant crisis has not improved things. It’s rough in some school districts, especially by Scandinavian standards.

OK, this has something to do with US federal official statistics on reporting on gun deaths. I was confused, because the police came out and said they located the guy, told him to stop, then shot him. The masked sword-wielder is in surgery at the moment.

You are still jumping to conclusions regarding the nature of this attack.
Palme reference wasn´t snark. It was pointing out that while violence is much less common there than here, it does happen.
And cue the NRA types who say that “lie-berals will now start calling for knife control” and “see, even a knife can be deadly in the hands of an attacker” and “if the teacher/students/security guard had been armed this wouldn’t have happened” and “Sweden is supposed to be the most civilized country on earth, but they have their problems so we shouldn’t do anything about ours”.
Some snark, but mostly painful prediction.

Point taken, you see me conflating stresses on the system and the acts of mentally disturbed people. The man accused of shooting Palme, Christian Petersson, was a drunk and a junkie, but there was insufficient evidence to convict. Here is a photo of the suspected slayer just minutes before the attack, a 21-year-old in what appears to be a sort of halloween costume.

What kind of third world dump Sweden is? Three victims? with a knife? Can’t theydo a proper school attack? Here in the old US of A, we make sure our murderers have the latest technology that guarantee at least a dozen victims.
The ones who are only 75% clueless will focus in on Sweden being socialist.
I think this proves the point of liberals that even though attacks happen, the likelihood of multiple fatalities increases when attacks are committed with guns rather than with knives and similar instruments. In this case, we can argue that only the good guys with training had guns. There’s a reason for that.
Again, where is the connection between Sweden’s announcement re: taking in more refugees and this attack by a deranged person? There is none.
