Discussion: Take It Out With The Trash: WH Quietly Dumps Alarming Climate Change Report

So when Trump said he wanted a great climate, he was lying? Shocking.

Ironically, this report issued by the Trump Administration bolsters the argument by environmentalists that it’s legal to break the law to protect the planet. The so-called ā€œnecessity defenseā€.

Well, we are only talking about the potential elimination of the human race (and maybe most other forms of life currently on earth). What’s the big deal?

Sigh It’s just the most important report that will ever pass through the incredibly stupid White House. Millions of lives depend on it. Trump won’t know about it until the Atlantic ocean swallows Mar a Lago. That would be a good thing except it will also affect many innocent people on the coast.

Front page of NYT, literally hair and everything else on fire reporting of damaged environment and consequently equally damaged economy.

The report, which was mandated by Congress and made public by the White House, is notable not only for the precision of its calculations and bluntness of its conclusions, but also because its findings are directly at odds with President Trump’s agenda of environmental deregulation, which he asserts will spur economic growth.

And one of the reasons Trump uses to justify toadying up to MBS and Saudi Arabia is oil.

Despite breaking records most every year, I think we need something totally unprecedented to get a little more attention. I suggest a Cat 5 hurricane in February, with Mar-A-Lago as the bullseye. Wipe that stain off the planet.

Of course, our crack press will forget to talk about this very concerning report come the Sunday news shows.I am sure Trump will start some sort of one day scandal to distract the herd.

Please leave Mar-A-Lago alone. I live nearby and a Cat 5 would be really bad for me.

That is perfect. I never understood the blow back when simply doing these things provide incredible benefit regardless.

It is like Y2K. Maybe overblown, but we went through the check list, upgraded software and equipment, dropped systems that would have required frequent maintenance due to age, provided more efficient software and solutions for the company. In the end, we established a clean environment with performance in lieu of gimping along, just making things work.

But. But. But. Susan Sarandon told is that Hillary or Trump? What is the difference?

Y2K was a giant nothing because software manufacturers and IT departments around the world addressed it very completely in the run up to 2000. That is what could and should have been done here, but oil company profits were so important our politicians decided to turn a blind eye to the coming disaster.

Trump does not believe in win win propositions. He thinks that he only wins if someone else loses.

This particular Cat 5 would be so unprecedented that it targets Mar-A-Lago to such an amazing degree of specificity that hardly a stir is felt even across the street…

I switched to CleanChoice energy this week, which will make our domestic electricity source 100% from renewable and save 18,000 lbs of carbon emission per year, if we’re average. Wish I’d heard about it earlier. No doubt there are wrinkles that I’m not being told about, but I don’t care. Our bills will go up a bit, but I don’t care about that either. This is a NY option. I’d be curious to hear about anyone’s experiences with this or other states.
