As far as Supreme Court nominees, Obama was only two-thirds of a president.
For that and all the other nominees you blocked, go fuck yourself Mitch.

Iâd pay big money to see the two of them on stage, no verbal holds barred. Any reasonable viewer would see Coates whittle McConnell down to an empty shell. The problem, however, is that McConnell has no shame. His smugness repels criticism and even more, truths he wants to ignore. He has his; he doesnât give a damn about anyone else, only about keeping and (mis)using power to keep people not like him down. He may be worse than Trump, who is stupid and damaged, and still cares what others (at least some others) think . McC is smarter, self-righteous, and contemptuous of others - and just plain evil.
Are the Dems seeking to commit electoral suicide for pushing a fringy Lefty activist idea that is going to lose massively white working class votes and thus hand the Presidency to the Orange Cretin? The timing is atrocious, and f*k the âOverton Window crapâ theory.
Justified or not, the concept openly branded as such is a horrid loser. Itâs not an election season idea to push (as a matter of substance pushing reparations for slavery is something that I doubt will ever have substantial electoral support given combination of new immigrant resentment [well-based or not] and white-resentment). From a pure Comm & Branding PoV, something branded to compensation for Jim Crow and Segregation is rather more likely to eventually find some traction.
Yes agreed, and never mind White Masses.
The framing of this also has a tendency to push Latino and Asian voters out. New immigrants from non-white origin can naturally be spun to see this as negative to them (they pay the taxes, but Blacks get the benefit).
Addressing inequalities via routes that get wider electoral group buy-in is the way to success. PARTICULARLY in an election year like this.
Thatâs exactly what Iâm afraid of. We pay reparations and then, as a society and a country, weâve bought the moral license to continue our policies. Racism has been atoned for, itâs over, so you black people, stop whining when another of your innocent young men gets shot by an overreacting cop or jailed for something a middle-class white male get a slap on the wrist for.
There are 37 million non-hispanic African Americans. If you assume, say, 33 million are descendents of slaves, what do you give them? $1,000 each? How far will that go? 10K each, thatâs 1/3 Billion $. Iâm not sure thatâs politically possible and itâs not going to get a poor black kid through college without debt.
Letâs say we pay $30K each. Thatâs an even Billion. Wouldnât we have bought moral impunity for that? And yet, it wonât pay for 4 years of college at a state university.
