Discussion: Suspended Fox Host Suing Reporter Who Published Sexual Harassment Claims

And, given what Bolling would have to prove, the “who” isn’t all that important (beyond the ability of the “who” to get legal representation). Bolling will have to show “actual malice,” which isn’t easy in a case like this, because it is highly improbable that Bolling would be able to show that Ali knew that the allegations were untrue. That means that Bolling would have to show that Ali exercised “reckless disregard” for whether or not the claim was true.

So, to win, Bolling would have to show that Ali made up all of his twelve sources (or that Ali should have known that all the sources were lying phonies) and would also have to survive the defense’s efforts to show that the claims were true.

My bet is that Bolling resigns “to free up his time to defend himself” and the lawsuit is soon dropped, with Bolling quietly paying Ali’s legal expenses.

Yeah I’m sure a settlement will be reached.

“There is no cannibalism sexual harassment in at the British navy, Fox News, absolutely none, and when I say none, I mean there is a certain amount.”

In Bolling’s case, I prefer those who do the crime, do the time. It’s also particularly amusing that he went after another dumbass, Anthony Weiner.

Weiner has lost much more, however, than Bolling ever had.

How long is it?

That’s a rather personal question.

The base will applaud him for distributing pictures of his privates about? So his base is then a bunch of 13 year olds snickering and hi-fiving him? Okay if that is a base and they support him.

Seems to me that his dick pics and text messages are now discoverable. Not a super smart move,

This isn’t a real suit, this is a SLAPP suit. Bolling is deliberately suing just the reporter and not HuffPo, so that the reporter will have to fundraise to front the costs. A big defamation suit like this can cost well over $1M to defend even if it’s a slam dunk, so Bolling is basically betting that he can use the money he’s been getting to be a jerk on TV to punish a real reporter for troubling him.

There are laws against filing SLAPP suits, but even then you’re talking $50-100K just to get in the courtroom doors.

But wait a minute … according to trunp… when you’re a star and real famous you can do whatever ya want…grab whatever. What is so different with sending unwanted porn to one’s coworkers?

That’s Bolling’s defense i bet’cha.
And we’re talking Fox here… so there’s that. Fox reporter against a HuffPost reporter…
(((Sigh)))

Is it bigger than a breadstick?

Not nearly as long as Bolling says it is.

In what parallel universe is it even possible to defame those willing to work for Fox News? Like they have any reputation to lose in the first place!

Richard Price had this great line in Bloodbrothers–a drunk flashes a woman and says challengingly: ‘You know what this is?’
The woman takes a look and says ‘It looks like a prick, only smaller’

OT but it does remind me to wonder just when Junior will be announcing his candidacy for governor of NY or mayor of NYC? I seem to recall talk of a new political family dynasty emerging after the bigliest win in history…

Junior couldn’t get elected street sweeper in NYC.

Thanks. As you can tell, my knowledge about all this is relatively very poor. I vividly recall one of the prominent Iranian calling himself a Persian and avoiding being called a Muslim. For whatever reason, that stuck with me.

Thanks for clarifying it for me.
