Discussion: Suspect In Beating Of Homeless Hispanic Man: 'Trump Was Right'

I did not grow up here. The military-brat Americans with whom I interacted were an unusual group, highly accustomed to diverse school, and neighborhood populations. It was a very happy childhood, one in which my Latino identity and bilingual ability was a plus, like being from an exotic place.

My opinion of the current FOX-bred “American Voter” contains a great deal of fear.

Fear for the minorities who live in the United States.

BREAKING: Reince Priebus was observed at DNC headquarters today, his possessions in a banklet roll, seeking asylum Says he no longer feels safe in the GOTP; they are ignoring recommendations of the 2012 autopsy in which the party was to outreach to women, African-American, Asian, Hispanic and gay voters. Priebus was recently startled to learn the autopsy was written in disappearing ink. No word from the DNC. Stay tuned.

I didn’t grow up here either, except sporadically, between duty stations. Best upbringing imaginable.
Ex-Air Force brat.

I remember seeing the film “Iron Eagle” and the scene in which Doug Masters went by the Gate MP.
The Gate MP said, “Masters!”

The whole experience of the Service Brat came rushing through. Even the way we called each other by our last names was different.

Thanx for the post.

What’s next Tea Party brownshirts? This is an old song that seems to be replayed every few decades. This time Hispanics are playing the role Jews and Gypsies played in the 1930s and 1940s.

“I will say, the people that are following me are very passionate,” he continued, as quoted by the Herald. "They love this country. They want this country to be great again. But they are very passionate. I will say that.”

So, so far, in the last 24, we’ve had a wave demands to for the revocation of citizenship of millions of Americans explicitly linked to hostility to a particular ethnic group, a radical political candidate whipping up that ethnic animosity giving a wink and nod of approval to politically motivated acts of brutality by thugs inspired by his message, demands for a forcible mass deportation without due process or legal recourse, the likes of which haven’t been seen since the 1930’s and 40’s, and, oh yeah, a Hate Radio jock in sensible, sober, centrist Iowa, the Great Winnower of Presidential Fields, has now taken up the banner of going back to slavery.

We really are just a step and a half away from uniformed mobs of party thugs bashing heads in the streets and open demands for death camps, complete with starvation, horrific medical “experiments” and cremetoria belching out clouds of greasy black smoke and horrifying ash falls at this point.

So, could someone please give Mike Godwin a call and get a ruling on what we’re allowed to say before we plunge into the abyss?

My choice is a coin flip between Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell.

Jesus is going to be really pissed off.

The guy was enjoying a night’s stay at a luxurious subway stop without paying for it. Now he’s complaining because he got a free shower and massage too?

I will say, the people that are following me are very passionate

It’s not passion, it’s bloodlust. God damn all the idiotic shit stirrers like you out there.

I’m just shocked that they’re Red Sox fans. Usually they’re so calm and well-mannered.

tRump’s response is him trying not to alienate his base. He’s crafted this hard-charging, take-no-prisoners approach, and telling his supporters to back off would be a risk. He is surging in the polls, and he’s trying to keep that momentum. He’s not satisfied with yelling FIRE in the movie theater, he needs someone to start the fire so he can say he was right.

Dangerous a-hole.

Do they say Make the Reich great again.

How is it, when one of us talks about how our country has somehow digressed, and it isn’t “that shining city on a hill” that Reagan fantasized about “anymore”, we are labeled unpatriotic and even traitors by the far right, yet Trump can continually say the same thing with not only impunity, but with this kind of violent support?

Simple logic dictates that if Trump and his Trumpers think that they can make America “great AGAIN” that it is somehow is no longer great.

Certainly, their well-known harmonic distortion explains this quite well, but it just strikes me as offensive that even as they wave their flags and claim their patriotism, they really despise this nation, and for more than any other reason that they refuse to admit or articulate, because our President is black.

How can America be great again if it already as great as they claim?

Which is it?

You know who else was passionate about making his country great again?

Deutschland wird wieder seinen Ehrenplatz einnehmen im Kreise der anderen großen Nationen und Völker!
– Adolf Hitler

As Alexis de Tocqueville is alleged to have observed,

America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.

Trump seems to think he can make America great again without making America good again. Others have gone down that road. It doesn’t end well.

Just replace “Great” with “White” and you will understand Trump’s slogan the way his supporters understand Trump’s slogan.

Trump Points Memo is what we have here, and there’s very little difference between his website and what we’re presented.
