Discussion for article #224886
And this is why this won’t be the major issue for any campaigns this year.
I’m sure more republicans are satisfied with their Obamacare coverage, but they would never admit it.
Overall, 78 percent of Americans said they were satisfied: 73 percent of those enrolled in a private plan and 84 percent of those enrolled in Medicaid.
Those surveyed also reported being better off: 58 percent said that they were better off now than they were before, while 9 percent said they were worse off. And 81 percent said that they were optimistic that their new coverage would help them get the health care they need.
And yet some 54% of Americans are unhappy with Obamacare.
But, but, but…Oh wait…benghazi!
I wonder how many of them knew that their plans were part of Obamacare?
Pretty sure this was the reason for the 50 votes to repeal. Easier to demonize something that hasn’t been experienced. Republicans always knew that once the ACA went into effect, that people would like it. Notice the crickets about repealing it now?
You mean Fast and Furious Benghazicare!
I’m guessing this will be the kernel of future mental illness for these Repukes. The brain doesn’t react well to this kind of incongruity, I’ve met a lot of gay right wingers and they are depressed, mentally ill messes. I hate Obamacare! No, I love Obamacare! Does not compute! Does not compute! [null]
This is why Teapublicans were so adamant about repealing “Obamacare” before it took effect. They knew that, once implemented, the program would prove popular.
Republican to constituents: I did not buy Obamacare coverage, I bought ACA coverage. Reply from constituents: Ohh, that’s differt than that dam Obamacare.
If it’s a blind taste-test, Americans of all stripes love the ACA.
You read off the benefits, and DING!, DING!, DING!, they favorably check off every item by 2-to-1-plus margins.
When you call it Obamacare though, what a sad but substantial minority hear in their brains is “that n***er’s socialist commiecare derp derp derp derp…”.
It’s all about Obama. All of it.
If Perry came out with a completely identical plan, his minions and teabag sycophants would eat the corn from his waste and say it tastes delicious.
Absolutely. Can’t give “the nigger in the White House” any credit at any time on anything.
All politics are mostly personal and local. So are racist leanings but they will give way to personal satisfaction when association is not required.
ObamaCare may do more to impact racial relations than any other single societal move, including Obama’s election. When you can touch the broad middle of the political/religious divides, you vault over the media and other fringe players, in shaping perspectives. Health care and the economy may be O’s greatest legacies.
Fear, propaganda and ignorance.
But why in the world aren’t DEMOCRATS running on this issue? What a bunch of numb-nuts!
This is simple, just repeal Obamacare, and replace it with (the actually more generous) Romneycare, and everybody wins!
Republicans never confuse what they know to be spectacle and theater with their own practical reality.
In this, they are true to their given psycho-pathological natures. There are the things that they do to WOO the Hoople-heads that vote for them–and then there are the sensible things they do for themselves.
If it gets replaced someday, then hopefully health insurance can get divorced from employment.
Honestly, I personally feel that voters have healthcare fatigue right now. 2016 is the time to run on Obamacare, when there are a couple of years behind it.
We already got the win. Republicans had built their entire strategy this year based on going after Obamacare. Simply removing it from the table has caused serious disruption.
