So… DACA will officially end in a 5-4 decision by June 2020.

Bam somebody finally said it

Jimmy Carter said he doesn’t believe President Trump won the 2016 election legitimately.

Speaking at a Carter Center conference on human rights on Friday, the former president said a full investigation into Russian interference “would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016.”

Jimmy Carter has more integrity in one of his pores than the moron could ever hope to achieve his entire life. This story will go unremarked, naturally.

He’s probably still raking in profits from his peanut farm, laughing at all us rubes who thought he actually sold it.

With the direction the SC is going, it’s very likely they will end DACA…they are on a mission to tear down the administrative state and limit immigration, so it doesn’t seem DACA has a chance. And, I’m sure Republicans think cutting this off will show how tough they are on immigration, and be spun as making sure that illegals don’t vote (or participate in the Census)…along those lines look for an ICE crackdown next year as well. All of this will be meant to serve the base and get them out to vote for Trump again.

They are completely underestimating how this will go over…not necessarily with the Latino vote, but with the younger vote. In 2018 that cohort came out much more than in previous elections, and leaned strongly to the left. Republicans continuing on their path risks losing the under 45 set badly, as well as women and minorities. Hopefully they continue to ramp things up and drive away more people, we really need that to happen to help push the 2020 wave.

There is gumption on this thread…

Thanks, people…

Any SCOTUS decision ending DACA could destroy Trump’s campaign. It means Democrats need to, for once, politicize the case. It could prevent Roberts from voting to kill DACA.

Given its explicitly concocted rationales for finally rubber-stamping the Moslem ban even though it explicitly acknowledged that the ban was based on religious bias and contrary to American political philosophy going back to George Washington, and given its numerous other decisions limiting the rights of humans, sadly I have little doubt that the Chief Injustice of the United States and his fellow corrupt injustices will throw the Dreamers to the hyenas.

If the government ends DACA , they should be required to destroy or ban the use of all personal information collected during the program.

Bait-and-switch is illegal.

Uh oh this may not end well

Trump and many in the GOP called for Obama to prove his citizenship - I want Trump and the GOP to prove that he won fair and square. They won’t try - maybe because they know the “win” was not legitimate. Time to call Jill Stein in to testify before Congress as to why she was at the same banquet table in Russia as Putin and Mike Flynn?

And so ends American Exceptionalism, Shinny City on a Hill, Beacon to the World.

Brought down by the GOP none the less.

Are you sure we want that?

And the five new justices she rams down McConnell’s treasonous throat.

That means killing the filibuster to change the law to make room, but the Senate, at this point, is a dead institution anyway.

Younger voters are not the only demographic incensed with the Republicans and their crooked SCOTUS. The crooks may be trying to get in all their wish lists before the Blue Tsunami of 2020. BTW, how many elderly Republican voters do you think may die before November 2020? Enough, perhaps?

The administration’s behavior in this case is mystifying until you look at it through the eyes of a president who only cares about getting “leverage” while denying responsibility.

The 9th Circuit told the administration that they had to do to get over this hurdle was to provide their reasoning for wanting to destroy DACA, But Trump won’t provide a reason. He wants to pretend that he is being forced to destroy DACA because Obama acted unconstitutionally.

That way he can get something (a wall?) from the Dems in return for reinstating DACA and at the same time tell voters it’s not his fault these kids are being deported.

Proposed tweet: “Nervous Nancy just wouldn’t make a deal with me to save DACA. SAD!”
