The hold is until 4 pm tomorrow- Ginsberg has asked for a response to questions likely arguing why the SC needs to intervene. This is how the law works. Your concern is at best premature since it is only until tomorrow
Yep. Even a chronic alarmist like me isn’t going to sweat this. It’s routine procedure. In fact the 4 pm Thursday deadline is very expeditious.

Yes, this is to allow ny/aclu to respond. Very tight time line. Not unusual to ask for a response, and a few days to get a fuller record shows they are considering the issue. Unfortunately (here at least) the us solicater general gets more careful consideration since it represents a co-equal branch of government. Ginsberg is simply following what is usually done when the sollicitor general is involved.
