Here is where we start to see whether the “investment” in Kavanaugh will pay off for Trump.
This is the most interesting secret case ever, and as a lawyer I look forward to a ruling (if I am permitted to read it). What is most fascinating is seeing if Trump GOP “justices” Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are complete lackeys of Don the Con or not. Are they crooked followers of Trump or real justices?

I don’t know that it’s a given this will go to SCOTUS. So far, it’s just a Roberts thing, right?
It will, Kavanaugh, Roberts, Gorsuch, Thomas & Alito are honest men, once bought, they stay bought .
It’s a given that SCOTUS will decide whether to continue the stay imposed by Roberts until SCOTUS can determine whether to hear the merits of an appeal.
However, it’s not a given that SCOTUS will grant certiorari and hear an appeal from the DC Circuit’s decision.
There hasn’t been a cert petition filed yet, so I think it’s too early to know whether there will be a SCOTUS ruling on the merits for anyone to read.
If SCOTUS denies the application for a stay pending appeal, the bank may respond to the subpoena rather than continue its appeal if the daily fine is high enough. Of course, if SCOTUS denies the application for a stay, I think that’s also a pretty good indication that at least 5 justices would be likely to affirm the DC Circuit’s decision.

I’ll hazard a guess here. Since this seems to be related to money, Manafort and the Russians, the link is probably Cyprus and one of their state-owned banks. I would also hazard a guess that Mueller will get what he wants unless Roberts has lost his mind.
