Discussion: Super Tuesday Poll Shows Trump, Cruz In The Lead

2008-or-above-level Dem turnout in November.

Stories on multi-state or national polls miss the big picture.

To be the nominee of either party you have to actually win some states. Coming in second or third doesn’t cut it.

On Supertuesday the only person not named Trump who will win ANY state is Cruz in his home state of Texas. Otherwise Trump is going to run the table, not just on Tuesday, but in March and probably thru June.

Trump will beat Rubio in Florida later in March and beat Kasich in OH. This is the story. No one but Trump at this point has a path to victory.

The same holds true for the Democrats. Bernie was only ever going win 3 or 4 states: Iowa (he tied) NH (a favorite son and he won), Vermont (home state) and maybe Mass. Hillary is going to win every other state. And now it looks like Hillary will win Mass. Bernie does not have a path to victory.

Our Presidential elections are all about states, and barring an unforeseen shakeup of a Biblical nature, this contest ended for both parties weeks or more ago.

Agreed in all particulars.

Come on Donald, you can beat Cruz in Texas - try harder.

I would love to see Cruz defeated here.

They turned out last night.

Despite all the threats from the Sanders supporters, most of those who regularly vote, will. Some or a lot of his under 30 supporters probably won’t but it shouldn’t make that much difference. That demographic doesn’t have a good voting record anyway.

Wednesday is going to be a rush for the GOP lifeboats if Trump blows them away on Super Tuesday! I can smell the panic already! What will they do?

Yes, they did. African-American turnout especially high–and especially important.
