Poland on Monday pulled out of a summit in Jerusalem, triggering the collapse of the entire meeting, after the acting Israeli foreign minister said that Poles “collaborated with the Nazis” and “sucked anti-Semitism with their mothers’ milk."
C’mon, give it to me straight. You don’t have to sugar-coat it.
Netanyahu had touted the meeting as an important step in his outreach to the countries of Central Europe, which have pro-Israeli governments that he is counting on to counter the criticism Israel typically faces in international forums.
That seems to be going well.
With the Hungarian and Slovak prime ministers already in Israel and the
Czech leader still planning to go, bilateral meetings were to go ahead
instead.
Sounds a lot like they are still having a summit and don’t care what Poland does.
Can anyone imagine the outrage if any country but Israel had assassinated nuclear scientists in another country and openly bragged about it?
Honest to Christ…most of these dumb motherfkers weren’t even BORN until way after WWII…maybe they should concentrate on TODAY, study history and move on.
Uh oh, another job for WonderKush to rapidly resolve.
Ugly statements about ugly things that happened over 70 years ago … seem to have a lot to do with somebody’s present day agenda.
Netanyahoo seems to be getting his poor manners and lack of knowledge straight from…trump.
Why are Israeli politicians self-imploding now?
But Netanyahu is happy to sugarcoat the fact that America was quite content to only sympathize with the Jews but not help them.
Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, declared war on the United States. These events led to America’s direct military involvement in both the European and Pacific theatres. (reference.com)
Of course, Netanyahu wants our tax dollars. Poland offers him nothing but a punching bag for his Trumpian fear mongering.
Old wrongs are never forgiven, they just lie dormant for while before the bleeding starts again. Human beings don’t learn from the past because it is never the past.
Trump is collaborating with Nazi’s right now. But Israelis LOVE him.
From Oct. 2018:
Pew survey shows 82% of Jewish Israelis trust president’s handling of global affairs, 94% have favorable opinion of US — views which are out of sync with most other nations
The two sides are poles apart.
Well, some other countries have used the “bomb, invade, and blow more or less everything up and then say “if we just keep looking I’m sure we’ll find a nuclear program here somewhere” method”.
A few assassinations seems fairly refined in comparison.
@alyoshakaramazov1, yeah. I can’t claim to be any kind of historical expert, but can we agree that being “pro Israel” and fighting anti Semitism have NOTHING to do with each other.
Sort of Trumpian move don’t you think?
“With the Hungarian and Slovak prime ministers already in Israel…”
There isn’t a more anti-Semitic government in Eastern Europe today than Hungary’s. For some reason, that doesn’t seem to bother Netanyahoo.
Well not a good sign when this summit is supposed to be about 4 countries coming and the country that is the size of the other 3 combined pulls out, and the 2nd largest which is the size of the 2 that are going isn’t there yet.
Sounds like the Israelis are working out of Agolf Twitler’s playbook The Art of the Schlemiel.
It’s relevant because the right-wing governments netanyahu is trying to ally himself with have the same kind of anti-semitic elements that the US right does. Remember that Poland just made it illegal for a pollish citizen to say what the israelis said. That’s not the behavior of a normal democracy. The history and ongoing prevalence of antisemitism in all the countries of europe still needs examination.
