Discussion for article #227834
Oh man, Erick Erickson is going to be red in the facestate.
Still waiting for the president and democrats to get their just credit for getting this done - and conversely the critics to be held accountable for being against something that clearly is a benefit to millions. . . . Not holding my breath as the MSM continues to look the other way, carrying GOP water.
You are going to have a long wait.
That’s why I’m not holding my breath.
Yes and notice the absence of Darcy because he’s too busy freaking out over the click bait cover story of what insurance companies may be able to do with prescription drugs. All this coming from a guy who lives in a state (NC) where there is no medicaid expansion and hospitals are closing down one after the other
“According to a new study, since the fall of 2012, the number of women who paid nothing extra to obtain birth control pills increased from 12 percent to 67 percent.”
The reason the GOP senate candidates are pushing for over the counter access, hopefully leading to no insurance coverage.
Wow. From 12% to 67%! I hope the word gets out widely and quickly to women consumers … maybe less slowly to those who think a woman’s gotta pay for that nasty sex one way the other, and preferably with a strong dose of humiliation.
So who hates this news more – firebaggers or teabaggers?
It doesn’t have to be perfect to help many people – but static helps NObody.
Do you think Obama hates reproduction because he hates humans or just because he hates women?
The chart would be be more visually effective showing the percentage drop in women paying out of pocket so that the pre/post bars show a decrease toward zero, rather than a rise toward zero.
Rick Santorum’s bible just burst into flames
Sometimes I suspect social conservatives attitudes toward contraception have nothing to do with religion, and it’s more like that of feudal land owner who is worried if the peasants stop having babies there will no one to work the fields.
I agree that contraception drugs must be covered under a health plan, I however fail to understand why they must be given out without a co-pay. Is someone else heart or kidney disease, epilepsy or any other ailment less important than pregnancy prevention? How does that fit under the equal protection clause?
Now now, that’s not fair. They’re also concerned that no one will be there to fight the wars.
You just know that if Shitburner had not gotten his worthless ass banned and then run out of sockpuppets, he’d be in here SCREAMING that Obamacare was not working.
Been thinking about the GOP and ‘religious’ right’s objection to ACA mandating coverage of birth control. Really, it’s not about their tender religious feelings. They are tools of the corporations. Big Insurance would save $$ if BC pills went over the counter. Women would have to pay out of pocket and insurers would be counting their coins.
Easy, now women get off free for birth control, just like men have always done.
Getting off free: I bought lots of condoms in my single days. Why are women today not insisting that men share in the cost of birth control? They’re both having the sex, right? Consent is paramount, right? So why isn’t that a condition? If they don’t, why should I shoulder that burden?
