Discussion: Students Protesting AP U.S. History Censorship Are Heroes

Discussion for article #228243

Good job, young minds!

That this is playing out in Colorado, having youth call attention to conservative ideologues on the local school board, coupled with the lengths conservatives are taking to claw at Udall, gives me hope things aren’t as rosy for their Senate prospects as Conservatives like to pretend.

Same with North Carolina, where weekly protests in Charlotte continue to remind citizens not as engaged just what party is actually stinking up the place.

Every vote is needed this November.

The Koch boys have been at the school boards all across this nation for years…we are just now seeing the fruits of their labors…we have the same problem in a western slope school district, but the wingers on the board are not going to do anything until the Jeffco situation is solved…I have friends involved in the Jeffco protests, and I tell ya the parents are NOT happy…there seems to be some sort of “I say one thing and do another thing” from these koch puppets…There may be some rumblings of re-calls etc…the KOCH name is once again involved with controversy and dirty money and politics…

“Acts of civil disobedience shouldn’t be taught as history”, says Tea Partiers. Without a trace of irony. .

It’s good to see youth so involved. Let’s hope that it grows.

The other irony is that these same TP/Koch folks are the ones pushing to “Teach the Controversy” over evolution.

So at what point do these right wingers put the accreditation of the school district at risk? Or, do they care?

They will when their graduates are not considered for certain schools, scholarships, etc., and property values go down.

Yup.

And do you remember all the times in the recent past these nutbags would insist that their movement was purely about fiscal policy?
