One wonders if Donnie’s personal opinions ever influenced his actions at the WH? /s
Not to mention the feckless folks presiding over this ‘investigation.’
With some luck, and some courage and well-spokenness from Strzok, this hearing could end up backfiring on the Repubs. Gawddddd, we need some breaks, don’t we?
In the summer of 2016, I was one of a handful of people who knew the details of Russian election interference and its possible connections with members of the Trump campaign. This information had the potential to derail, and quite possibly, defeat Mr. Trump. But the thought of exposing that information never crossed my mind.
But her emails, right?
It’s nice to see some people showing fortitude against Putin/Trump’s apparatchiks. They’ll be on the right side of history.
He’s good. No wonder they didn’t want public testimony.
He really does know where the bodies are buried. I tend to think that perjury entrapment is not what the Goodlatte gang is after here. I’m betting they’re hoping Strzok will inadvertently reveal some “classified” information so they can grind him with it. Nevermind Nunes, Trump, etc.
Yeah I don’t get why they’re giving him this forum today. They trying to get one gotcha quote? Is this move hubris on rethug’s part?
I expect this whole episode to nicely backfire.
You guys think? I always assume it’s simple grandstanding, like Jordan was doing the other day when Rosenstein made a fool out of him.
“Have you ever had an opinion, Senator?”
Agreed. The GOP inquisitors will read prepared speeches into the record, the base will accept their monologues as not only evidence but irrefutable proof of whatever deep state conspiracy they concoct and then demand that Mueller be charged with treason for adhering to the enemies of Trump.
We can only dream (and pray) to see the proceedings chaired by Adam Schiff of the Trump players. Trey Gowdy looks like an ass, but what else is new. Deplorables in heaven.
“I understand we are living in a political era in which insults and insinuation often drown out honesty and integrity. But the honest truth is that Russian interference in our elections constitutes a grave attack on our democracy,” Strzok said in his prepared remarks. “Most disturbingly, it has been wildly successful — sowing discord in our nation and shaking faith in our institutions. I have the utmost respect for Congress’s oversight role, but I truly believe that today’s hearing is just another victory notch in Putin’s belt and another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart.”
Yep. That’s a full-Monty display of his contempt for Congress, right there!
Strzok gives me hope. As long as we have people with that kind of integrity and courage in our government, I cannot see Trumpty Dumpty and his minions prevailing.
“Have you ever conducted an extra-marital affair, Senator?..While having an opinion??? Hmmmmmm?”
