I think it is a mistake to consider the removal of that flag a foregone conclusion.

Well, what do you know. In the wake of a horrific massacre, southern officialdom and national commercial interests are finally downplaying a piece of fabric that represents a failed rebellion 150 years past. Universal background checks, at least, something everyone including a majority of NRA members want, to stem the deluge-like availability of the kind of guns that actually did the massacre and made the people dead? Whoa whoa whoa not so fast, for some reason that’s more complicated. Interesting country we live in, it really is.
