Discussion: Stewart Rips Fox News For Attacking Obama On Poverty: 'Buffet Of Bullsh*t' (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #236350

Words cannot describe how much I will miss this man. The ability to use humor to wipe away bullshit is rarer than a conservative who believes in climate change.

Thank you Jon for calling a spade a spade.

Mr. Stewart, while I realize that looking at Fox News is depressing work, for those of us who can’t watch it - it makes me too angry - your reports have been illuminating. I hope you find satisfaction, at least, in the idea that some of the Fox assholes who watch your skewering of them sleep just a little less soundly. Somewhere in the back of Stuart Varney’s little mind, when he looks out the limo window at one of the hoi polloi crossing the street, or when he’s grunting at the doorman in his building, he wonders, ¨has that person watched the Daily Show, and thus knows what a despicable craven asshole I really am?¨

Yeah, me too. I am hopeful for Trevor Noah. I was personally rooting for Jordan Klepper to get the seat, but I like Noah as well. I don’t want a single thing to change regarding the format. NOTHING!!! Don’t try and make it your own, Trevor, just pick up the ball and keep running!!!

This is my favorite Jon Stewart clip:

This is the one where Jon watches Fox News to hear Hannity’s apology. Hilarious, and so accurate. At the end he thanks the person who watches Fox News for him.

No, no, he doesn’t. But the doorman knows he is a craven piece of odious garbage, and probably wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire. This imbalance will right itself, eventually, and when that happens, I’d much rather be Stuart Varneys’ doorman. Hell, I’d rather be his doorman, anyway. People like Varney never feel truly happy, or anything approaching true joy and peace. Miserable addle-pated louts never do.

Is that wanker on Morning Joe Mike Barnicle?

That’s him.

The one guy who could do as great a job as Jon Stewart in hosting the Daily Show is John Oliver. I was really rooting for him to take over the show, but I guess he could not break his HBO contract. It is so rare to have a comedian who can be funny and hugely earnest at the same time, and to me that is Jon Stewart’s biggest gift.

The toxic dunderheads at Fox are truly demonic. I await my no-so-spiritual response when calamity fells each of them.

Jonny, the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come…

Somebody needs to make an animated gif of that “Really.” part.

Jon Stewart is like the jester who mocks the Emperor and finally reveals to the public that he wears no clothes. Fox continues to wear the clothing of a legitimate news organization, yet they are nothing but a partisan propaganda network whose only function is to keep Americans at each other’s throats while the wealthy continue to make off like bandits with our national treasury.

You see it the way they hammer the poor, black people, and women. Anybody that could benefit from a little help from the government gets derided as a “moocher” and “taker”. Yet when the POTUS himself calls them out for it, they sit there with their shit-eating grins and say “Who, us? Naaaah. We LOVE the poor!” Of course the rubes will still eat it up and ask for more, and that’s the real problem with Fox News. Too many willing idiots swill their daily dose of Fox Kool-Aid, as they sit there in front of their 24 Hours Hate.

Goebbels surely would be proud.

That is 100% of the problem of FOX.

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT.

FOX would not broadcast 1 minute per year of their vile hate if there were not an ample supply of Americans eager to watch.

I once saw a photo of a 1930s lynching. The black men were hanging from trees.

I do not know who strung them up. I do not know who pushed the supports from under the men.

But I DO know (and will have this picture seared in my mind until I die) that I SAW cheerful people in their Sunday Best, men, women, children, dogs and cats.

Like the bigots who watch FOX, none watching those black men take their last breath ever had to account to anyone for their act of patronizing what amounted to a cold-blooded, tortuous murder.

THAT 1930s lynching would have had far FAR less effect had those cheerful, cherubic townspeople not decided to turn out to see the “fun”. Suppose three bigots had decided to lynch those guys and the townspeople, collectively said, “This is wrong”

SUPPOSE FOX DECIDES TO BROADCAST WHAT AMOUNTS TO VILE HATRED AND AMERICANS SAY, “THIS IS WRONG”

They don’t and they won’t.

And THAT is the long and the short of FOX:

Their network-supporting viewers…the crazy uncles and aunties perfectly normal people share XMas and Thanksgiving dinners with, before they get a big parting hug.

With Love.

Also known as the Republican base.

Absolutely correct. A resounding encore to your words, there are no words to express how much we will miss this man.

That’s the sad part, isn’t it?
Jow Scarborough and his minions are true pieces of garbage. Vile people.

I’m really gonna miss Jon.
And Fox and their minions will remain spreading their hate and cruelty.
It’s not fair.

I’ve had many an argument with my brother-in-law’s wife (an avid viewer of Fox) over the years. To the point that Mrs darr has forbade further attempts at reasoning with the lady. Her husband can be reasoned with and understands that Fox is populated by demented folk. But no amount of objective evidence will be effective or useful. It’s like trying to reason with Orly Taitz. It cannot be done.
By extension then, there must exist a subset of our citizenry who are irrational from the get-go. And Fox News has their number.
