Oh, so the man who couldn’t be bothered to find his polling place seems to be upset about the outcome?

You just have to parse it correctly. The GOP’s definition of “bipartisanship” consists of the Administration agreeing to whatever the GOP-controlled Congress wants, and never using the veto.

His sarcasm is directed at republican hypocrisy not the “outcome”. Do do you recall the day after the President’s was elected Mitch McConnell stated that his sole agenda was to make Obama a one term president.

He said at the start of Tuesday night’s show that he did vote and was trying (in that case unsuccessfully) to make a joke. He apologized for the statement and made clear he in no way was trying to make light of voting.

I guess that was one of those times that Stewart was too dead-pan for his own good. Glad to read that he clarified.

Bingo!

The GOP is, and will always be, lying sons of bitches.

For the rubes, they must posit that they want to govern. Now that that formality is out of the way…

And don’t forget not working with the Democrats or the President at all while crafting the legislation they don’t want him to veto.

Now that the GOP can pass legislation through both Houses, it will be Obama gridlocking the government through his veto. They are setting themselves up to run for a “unified government” that can “get things done.” in 2016. It has a real good chance of working. Most people aren’t going to want 4 or 8 more years like the previous 2 or 6, with a Republican dominated House and/or Senate and a Democratic prez. Obama has been a complete disaster for the country and the Party.

I didn’t realize that. Good to hear.

Fuck off. That is a stupid comment.

Well, at least he has gotten over his previous meme of Republicans and Democrats being equally malicious. I’m glad to see that he has evolved.

You know what, Uncle Tom? I sincerely hope that Obama does just what people like you want him to do: Let Congress ~

  1. Take away health care from the millions who just got it;
  2. Prevent people who have ever had a medical problem from getting affordable insurance;
  3. Let sick people get dropped from their insurance policies;
  4. Drop all children from their parent’s policies once they are out of school (and unemployed looking for work)
  5. Outlaw Birth Control, sex education and abortion everywhere
  6. Take away help for children whose parents can’t afford to feed them well, or take them to the doctor
  7. Start some more unfunded wars (that Congress’ children never fight in)
  8. Remove every protection for the environment and against Climate Change
  9. Remove any prohibition about bribing politicians
  10. Pick the next several Supreme Court Justices so that only the uber wealthy are protected
  11. End Medicare
  12. End Social Security

…and on and on and on.

You know why I wish this? Because this country fucking deserves it! The election this week proves that we are unworthy of our ancestors and that goes for Democrats (politicians who ran away from their own accomplishments and goals, and citizens who didn’t get off their lazy asses and VOTE!). And Republicans like you, who are selfish bullies who want only power and “things” and are willing to get it by obstruction and fear-mongering.

I hope, most sincerely, Uncle Tom, that you really get what you deserve in life.

Of course, which is very common on here, what you stated was not true. McConnell did make that statement the day after the President was elected, but prior to the 2010 mid-terms.

Stewart said later that he voted. He apologized for the poor joke and the confusion.

Please… show me ANY f’ing example of a Republican apologizing over the last 6 years.

Your definition of “not true” is crap. The core of his statement was true, he accurately captured the despicable statement by McConnell. He incorrectly stated when it was said. Which detail, I wonder, is far more important here?

My definition is based on the FACT that McConnell didn’t make that statement that the left keeps quoting the day after he was elected but two years later.

Furthermore, it is the goal of every opposition party to defeat the President of the other party, so it isn’t something that started because there was black Democrat elected President.
